Awesome thank you very much, time to go get it. I can always count on you for the quick and correct response.

So I have a quick question that I'm hoping someone can confidently adress, as I've searched the internet for hours and haven't come across a response I can be sure of.
If I bought red dead redemption when it first came out, and since completed the single player game and earned rank 50 in multiplayer, will this transfer over if I purchase the game of the year addition? I'm most concerned about the multiplayer rank. I wouldn't mind beating the single player game again, but although I love the multiplayer I'd hate to grind back to 50.
So anyone who knows if save games from the original red dead carry over to the game of the year addition, please post. I know they would if I bought the dlc and installed it to the game, but that would be more expensive than simply buying the goty edition and giving the original red dead to a friend.

anyway that is what I would LIKE to see. No matter how convincing that list looks, Its not the final list (Unless Rockstar decide to use it in game HINT HINT Developers)
I'm really glad the developers are the ones picking the music rather than the fans..

Undercover cops would be annoying as hell, I would rather not have it. I hated how in IV cops knew about your crimes even when there were none around, would be almost the exact same thing if there were undercover cops.
I'm sure they will fix that, and plus a lot of people want realism, and the cars look good, so that a win win
Depends what kind of undercover cars we're talking here. If you mean like an unmarked car then yeah that'd be cool and you'd learn to spot them pretty quick. But if we're talking drug bust investigation undercover cars which are civilian cars like saturns and shit, that would be really annoying.

amazing trailer. I already like the banter between michael and his son lol.

@ DuP If you really didn't give a "shit" about others opinion why did you respond to the comment? ALOT of people would like the Gang culture, the ability to purchase homes and the RPG elements. And whos to say that there isn't? And seriously who said that moving forward is always for the better? Sometimes drfiting to the past has a better outcome to future video games. Im going to bitch about the chars cuz they look Boring..well franklin looks kinda rough but two old dudes..idk just kinda remind me of kayn and lynch.
If you want to drift to the past then pop in san andreas. This is a new game so moving forward is definatly for the better. Plus the 3 protagonists sound great, I have a feeling you're just alittle butt hurt that one of the protagonists isn't CJ or some wana be gang banger. Trevor, one of the "old dudes" you speak of, seems more bad ass than any protagonist we've had before. I think some people have had the misconception that 5 would be like san andreas 2. Embrace the change.
And speak for yourself rather than saying "alot of people" like you have the majority on your back. Personally I'm thrilled the game doesn't revolve around gangs, mainly because it's played out and I'm tired of the wana be hood pop culture. And I'm really glad the RPG elements aren't back. If I'm going to spend time working out it's going to be in real life. And I could care less about buying houses.. It's not like I spend any time there. We get a mansion, a trailer, and something in between from the start. Sounds good enough for saving your game and storeing cars.
The game looks amazing. I really hope people like you don't make any developers at R* feel bad about their hard work. Because although complainers are the minority, they spam the newswire which makes them look like the majority.

How exactly has it changed, drug dealers may no longer use beepers, and instead use mobile/cell phones. But there are still lowriders/ hotrods in the 'Hood' type areas, as well as colour gangs like bloods ( red ), crips ( blue ), and mexican gangs ( brown ), Gangs still have pretty much all of South Central and East LA Divided Up, places like Long Beach, Compton, Inglewood, Huntington Park, Willowbrook etc, etc. Selling everything like Crack, LSD, Yay, Hay, X etc, etc. They still do drive by's, they still use strongarm and intimidation tactics on local businesses.
In fact I would say they act pretty much the same way that they did in the 90's. Except now they are better equiped with a wider variety of Assault Rifles, Machine Gun's, Sub Machine Guns, RPG's, Hand Grenades, and other explosives like C4. Plus alot of them have Bullet Resistant Vests and other body armour, as well as armoured cars now with bullet proof windows. Alot of these gangs have made alot of money over the years selling drugs and as a result have become alot more numerous and tougher to deal with ( for law enforcment ). They are probably tougher now than they were in the 90's, especially gangs like MS13 and 18th St.
I, a white Englishman, walked through various areas in South Central when I went, and it didn't look like Boyz-n-da-Hood. It looked less intimidating than London to be honest. So I beg to differ on the first point.
The fact that they have modernised pretty much concludes my arguement. They have changed, as has the culture.
O.K. so you walked through what you thought was a gang neigbourhood when you were on holiday in the US.
Wow sir, you must be an expert on the gangs in LA then.
And how exactly are you an expert on LA gang culture when you're living in sydney austrailia? TV? Unless that's just a fake location.
I've been to LA. Sure there are gangs. Nearly every city in the US that has a section of low socioeconomic standing has gangs. But very rarely do you walk into a neighborhood and see multiple large groups of people strapped and reppin colors. Shit's way more low key these days unless there is a dispute, in which case things can get pretty crazy. Hence why GTA 5 isn't focusing on gang culture (plus it's been done before and is played out). There probably will be gangs within the game that you can interact with in some way, like the gang members that would shoot at you in 4 when you started shooting near them, but they won't be the focus of the game. And I for one am happy about that.
And btw, it became obvious that you were talking out your ass when you said hood gangs are pushing LSD. Are you kidding me? I don't know a single ghetto drug dealer that pushes psychadelics (besides ecstasy, but that's usually cut with mad stimulants). LSD is family territory. They have a chemist who has it perfected, it's distrubuted throughout the family (grateful dead family, rainbow family, ect.), and it moves down the chain. Plus even if they got their hands on it, pushing LSD would be a waste of time. There isn't a huge reward for the risk, and it isn't the kind of drug that people use daily so it won't have a steady flow of customers.
And feel free for deleteing this post for being off topic. I appologize. The gang talk just needs to end. Gangs have already been done. Gta 5 sounds genious at this point so I don't know why people are getting upset.

One guy is rich, (on the brink of collapse) Another is mad, and the Third is ambicious. Why we didnt saw the mad guy on first trailer? Mistery or he was just created after 1st trailer?
I can only think of two reasons for that. 1. is what you suggested, that he wasn't created yet or was even planned on being added to the game at the time. 2. Is that he lives a completely different life than the other two. The first trailer was set in the city, where michael lives in the uppity rich area and franklin repo's cars (so although the trailer was based on michael, it also showed franklin throughout). It showed very little of the surrounding country side and small towns, which is where trevors trailer is located, so maybe they were waiting for the next trailer to get into that. It also keeps the character a mystery like you said. I'm pretty sure we didn't see him until the batch of screenshots where one shows him aiming an AK at the police helicopter in the dark.
And to the people discussing the "special skills", I don't think it limits things like flying to one protagonist like I've been seeing some people saying. The only reason I say that is because michael can be seen flying a jet in one of the screen shots that were released late this summer. I really don't know how they're going to pull it off though. I would hate if the game hindered/bossted my ability to fly/drive based on the protag i was useing.

Lol I thought I'd be a minority by choosing the balding guy as my favorite at this point, but it seems I'm in good company. Dirty sociopath over everything.
-
I think that there will be 3 campaigns where you play as each character for each one.
Think it's way more likely that it will still be just one big story, characters that will keep crossing each other. To me this really opens up the big option of CO-OP.
Honestly I've been thinking the same thing. I'm really not expecting it, but an optional co-op element in the single player game would be welcome in my book. Even if it's just for free roam, being able to sit next to a friend on the couch and play splitscreen or something would be pretty fun.
-
I think you can choose the fate of all three.
I do too, I just suspect that 2/3 will be killed or put in jail by the end. I hope we have access to all of them even when the story is complete though.
-
In that case I'll make sure I'm on here at the moment the scans are posted. just incase they need to be removed...
-
I have a weird feeling that two of the protagonists will die through the course of the story based on your decisions, which in turn would allow you to choose which protagonist you keep after the story is completed for free roam. Not making it an obvious decision between the three, but enough to make your favoritism for one of the three guide your choice to giving the one a favorable outcome. Just a thought..I'm no good at predicting lol.

Luckily my friends were nice enough to put a pillow and blanket on me.. One of the weirdest places I've woken up.

Honestly man if you're serious I can try to give you some feed back. I have alot of trouble telling when people are serious on this forum lol.
First I have to ask (rhetorrical question), have you had some sort of social trauma in your life like someone you had placed love or trust in hurting you (eg: abandoning you, lieing to you, going behind your back, physicall/emotionally abusing you)? Trauma, wether it be one serious incedent when you were young, or a pattern of smaller scale incedents throughout life can do alot to you whether you know it or not. If this is the case, your subconcious may have set up emotional walls to prevent further negetive impact to your ego. By doing this, you won't let others in. You stay emotionally callaced, quick to distrust, and will always be the first one to leave a relationship. No one will truley know you, no one will truely matter to you, therefor no one can hurt you and your ego may stay intact. This may apply to you, it may not. I'm just throwing it out there. I only have an associates degree in psychology, and I don't know you, so I can't really help you without knowing more. But if this is infringeing on your quality of life I recomend you talk to a professional.
What I will say is that going through life alone won't be fun. My advise for you is try to form relationships with people, but always be mindfull of your barriers. Don't put more trust in people than they deserve, and don't put out more love for people than they give to you. This way you can remain comfortable, be true to your feelings, yet you may also get into some really great friendships/relationships/situations that you would have missed out on. It's really odd, but you would be amazed at how much power you have over your reality. Simply smileing alittle while talking to people completely changes their mood and how they react to you. So play around with communication and relationships and see how it goes for you. You sculpt your own experience bro.

yes but if you look at this guy on the jet ski... he more resembles the ned luke character.
I really don't see how you're seeing this. This guy and the balcony guy (ned luke) look completely different.

They're fish tailing because you're leaning forward. Lean back and you'll get more stability and grip, forward gives more turning control. If your gonna play an AUTO game learn to fucking drive.
I'm going to be honest with you I didn't know leaning forward gave you more turning control. I only ever leaned forward when I was going in a straight line trying to reach max speed. But you're right because if you're trying to quickly accelerate while leaning forward or try makeing quick turns while leaning forward it winds up making your bike go directions you didn't intend. I didn't even think to correlate that to what he was saying.
-
Interesting. I didn't know that bikes fishtail when taking a 90 degree turn going 15 mph. Good to know though.
I don't think gta 4 really gives justice to how fast you're going. You may think you're going 15mph, but you're probably much faster than that. Look at the speed of other cars. I like to think that on the highway they're going 50-60mph, yet it looks like they're going slow. So If you base your speed off of that, you're probably going alot faster than you think.
As for this fish tailing, I really haven't had much trouble with that.. unless I was slamming on the brakes or going rediculously fast and trying to make quick movements.

I stopped reading after "san andreas' motorcycle physics are more realistic than gta 4's". Then I stopped posting serious feed back after reading someone who agrees with this topic thought gta 4's helicopter physics were too realistic because the propeller would eventually break after grinding it against buildings.
Foreal I hope rockstar doesn't backtrack and make things arcade-like and unrealistic again just to please the minority who are still stuck on san andreas. Gta 4's physics were a huge improvement over previous games. I only hope they will be even better in GTA 5. Realistic driving/flying that takes skill to do well> going 100mph and successfully making a 90 degree turn.

I don't really care how they represent it, I just hope it automatically regenerates durring multiplayer. Seriously, picking up health is arcade like and a thing of the past. Of course I understand they may keep the non regnerating health system for single player since it's been that way in every gta, but I really wouldn't be opposed to seeing it done away with all together.
With that being said, if there is regenerating health, I think the screen should go red/blurry when close to death (perhaps accompionied by a health/damage bar like max payne 3) and after a period of time safe from damage it begins regenerating.
With regenerating health we're able to have a more realistic and less frustrating experience. Think of gta 4, you could get sprayed with bullets (and even take multiple bullets to the head) and come out of it with just enough health to eat a hotdog. In red dead and max payne, however, bullets did more realistic amounts of damage and head shots were 1 hit kill on the player. This made the game alot more fun and believeable, and unfortunatly with non regenerating health (and without multiple health packs throughout missions and without lots of cover hugging) games can be frustrating at times and kind of remove some of the fun element in my opinion.

I think there's some new element added to the game... Like really progressive and never done before.. I can't for the life of me even begin to speculate what it is, but I think it will suprise us all. Alothugh I think we can safely assume we'll get a look at it this week.
-
Not yet. Now does each viewfinder just have one pic or can you switch through all 5?
I'm going to assume each view finder has 1 picture.
-
Looks like there's some great variety in the map. 1 Big city, beaches, ocean, rivers, mountains, forests, farm land, small towns; all confirmed so far if these pics are real (which I'm 99% sure they are). It'll be alot more fun than gta 4 where you couldn't escape the concrete jungle.
-
So there are 5 pics in the view finder.... but i only see 3? when are they gonna leak the other two!!!
And what the fuck is a future store?
Lolol I know that has me confused as well. I just assumed it was the name of a game shop somewhere in the world.
Old Guns and New Guns

I think what he's getting at is dual weapons shouldn't be in the game. First off using two guns at once on a single target is completely rediculous.. It would be much better to put accuracy into one weapon and hopefully make the killshot quickly. It's ok in games like max payne because max payne is just a crazy slomo diving bad ass game. But as you will see in max payne's multiplayer, dual pistols/smg's completely dominate, making using a single pistol/smg completely obsolete unless you're a much better shot than your oponent. So I believe he, much like myself, would prefer to keep dual weapons out of gta 5. Using two guns at once is something that is best saved for movies and games that don't center on realism. I prefer shooting to be realistic as possible in gta, and duals would just get in the way of it and make it seem cheesy or childish.
