Yah there really wasn't anything to buy besides weapons but if you dont get busted and pick ammo off dead fuckers then even that wasnt much of an expense.
The car modding in Mafia II was pretty cool. It actually had performance upgrades. And since Mafia 2 had some kind of car modding, that leads me to believe the next gta will.

I think MS is backing downloadable games rather than Blu-ray or another optical format for this gen. Optical discs don't offer the read speeds you need to stream or copy hi-res textures and other data to the cache.
By the time the next Xbox comes out they could use some kind of proprietary USB flash drive to run or install games from, or something. The new Thunderbolt port offers something like 10Gbps transfer speeds and USB 3.0 isn't too shabby either, and 64GB USB drives are already getting cheap, so the technology is there.
Lmfao, back to cartridges....well kinda anyways.

Beat it again and Im doing all the stranger missions with Jack. Its kinda funny cause I start some with John and in the cutscenes the character didn't acknowledge it was a different person...YEARS later. Also, after giving that dude the deed for that pleasance place, I merked him with a throwing knife, looted his body and got the deed back. I lol'd.
Same with Jenny...The faith chick dying in the desert. After I gave her the medicine, I burned her sexy ass with a fire bottle. Looted her and got the medicine back. Good attention to detail R*....like always.

LA noire only feels like GTA, but it's not even half as close to the real deal that RDR was... it's far from it...
have you ever played, point 'n click games, the sam & max series, or read choose your own adventure books?? it's 80% more like that, and 20% GTA... maybe it's more 70/30 but either way, it's different... RDR was more 80% similar, which gave GTA gamers the GTA vibe... you might only get subtle feelings with LA noire but, it's still there... it just takes a backseat to the gripping story and cunning detective skills you'll be dealing with on a constant basis...
i don't expect a lot of GTA gamers to like this... but for me, i love "sam & max" detective games so, i am excited... and the fact that it "feels" like GTA and RDR (because of the RAGE engine) is just the cherry on top
...I agree. I think its gonna be less like GTA than RDR was. And if not whatever..Ill still love it. Just beat RDR again. Fuck i love that game. I've never played a rockstar game I didnt like. Bully was a lot different and it was fucking great. I loved the warriors too.
