  1. Well i'm already debating whether to trademark the name "Brotherhood of Leets" assuming it's not already taken; uniform will be T-51 power armour in matte pink with the crotch cut out for easy teabagging. Prospective members must adopt a Russian accent, shout down their mics and shoot everything that moves, especially if that thing says "i'm friendly!"

  2. I'm in the salty but undecided camp, like I said before I will probably get it because I like Fallout. But not at release, there's a lot of uncertainty surrounding the game. Bethesda titles are buggy enough in single player and I dread to think what a multiplayer experience will be like.

    Hi!

    A test game for what?

If thats the case then this is a test game for the future and if it works all of their games will be like this.

I think the guy in Fallout 4 selling charge cards was a test for multiplayer, that'll be their version of shark cards.

    *mutters*retard.

  4. I still find it odd that as little as 6 months ago they were preaching about saving single player gaming and their next big announcement is "hey, here's some multiplayer." Why bother with the #SavePlayer1 thing at all?

(I think that's the first time i've ever used a hashtag.)

If there are no NPCs at all, does that mean someone playing solo will literally be alone on the map, other than in-game enemies?

    Was thinking that myself.

If you build a settlement somewhere and you join a lobby where someone else has built at the same spot? If you build in a spot and join a lobby where that area is nuked to fuckery? Ze questions are endless...?

  6. I'm pretty neutral about the whole thing, I will probably pick it up and enjoy it for a few hours but I don't think i'll be as invested in the world as I would be if it was SP. At least the map looks more exciting than 4's.

  7. Yep, i'm with you pretty much, pointless back and forth gun battles with random people isn't my idea of fun. Still i'm interested to see how i'd fare against PVP pros since i've spent so many years playing Fallout 4 and know the weapon characteristics well.

Funny that we have two games now that feature single player weapon mechanics that I can't see transitioning into an online world smoothly. (Deadeye in RDRII and VATS in this.)

  8. He says yeah you can play solo but in a world tailored to an online experience will it feel dead and devoid of life if you choose to play that way. Think it's running on the same engine as 4 too, which makes me think we'll have massive frame drops in high poly areas and the usual assortment of bugs.

Oh and there are super mutants, so somebody must have some FEV somewhere.

  9. Dozens of players could mean anything less than 100 really, but I expect it to be around 32 ish similar to GTAO. The difference is you won't have some cunt flying around in a Hydra or Oppressor. The nuke thing instantly made me think of the orbital laser in GTAO, but it seems to be like loot drops in Rust where you can acquire rare items if you can prepare yourself. I'm interested in playing it but I know I shouldn't be as it really doesn't benefit me to play solo, everything is an uphill struggle when you have to defend yourself against a group of five children squealing "lzzzzzz" down their mics or whatever it is the kids say nowadays, too much of that and it kills your interest in a game. Wasn't keen on the dragon creature either, it made it seem too MMOey.

  10. Eh, i've always hated multiplayer games, I go solo wherever possible. I have played a bit of Rust but I never really got involved in any extended combat, I just built up my base, stashed some weapons and eventually got offline raided. I'm willing to give this a go though, maybe not at release.

  11. R*s hype train goes something like - first carriage all bells and whistles, neon lights and pink rims, next 24 carriages are empty flatbeds then another carriage of screenshots and wonder at the rear.

Bethesda's is more like a bullet train with a crude, barely-dry painted message on the side of it saying "here I am!" as it speeds through the station.

  12. Yeah like I said it seems like Bethesda are going against what is considered the norm so I wouldn't put it past them to skip the long hype train, titles like Fallout and ES don't actually need a hype train anyway.

  13. I don't think i'll bother with preorder bonuses, to be honest you use them for a few hours then they are obsolete as you'll already have something better. The treasure map sounds the most interesting of the lot. Gonna assume Saint Denis is New Bordeaux's new name.

Also sad that they're giving GTAO bonuses too, and as always such paltry amounts that won't buy you fuck all.

  14. I wonder if a new engine means a whole new set of game breaking bugs and other quirks - hope they haven't fixed the exploit where you can drop stuff on the floor and get your companion to pick it up so they can carry an infinite amount of crap, made early game Skyrim and Fallout much easier.

  15. If it's a mountainous area then it probably would've limited the ingress of radiation from elsewhere, so overall it might be more verdant. I hope there's a glowing sea-esque area though, that was one of the few parts of 4 I enjoyed.

  16. It doesn't mean there definitely aren't super mutants, somebody else could have had access to some FEV and made an analogous version of a super mutant - maybe even a proto-super mutant. But yeah at least deathclaws are prewar. Even the raider groups are going to be a bit primitive and disorganised, 25 years isn't that long to establish a hierarchy once everything has settled down after the initial chaos of (near) total atomic annihilation.
