  1. so they've been granting early access to a "stress test" on xbox to a number of people who met the criteria... i am trying to avoid anything they share for now because i don't want the spoils at this point in the cycle... after the greenbrier presser, i've seen all the footage i need to see until my turn at the helm...

so just a friendly warning that potential story and location spoilers are bound to start popping up here if you're seeking news :)...

  2. i was thinking of making one of these, but as a general crew discord with an iRD section... that way we can still post about GTA, and even arrange fallout groupings... should we do that instead, dup? if so, what would we call it if it we were keeping it that general...

i've been using discord for a few months, a podcast i listen to has a group chat on there, it's a cool app...

or can we just add an "other games" section and include GTA and Fallout then? with sub categories for organizing and photos and stuff? are you able to change the name of the discord server later if we decided to change the format? also, make me a mod when i join :)

if most of the crew doesn't have USB microphones, it's possible that we could actually set up group chats thru it so we can bypass the 8 person PSN limit, because i do believe the discord chatter is much cleaner than-game ones...

  3. i've been considering the thought of playing a certain character with certain people... have my overall explorer guy, but with a few groups of my friends, us having a different one that we only play the game with them when we're just playing as a same group... i think that would help the immersion a bit, that's the DnD aspect i was talking about...

  4. dude, the more time that passes, the more my interest picks up!

those videos didn't show me anything to sway my mind... bethesda told everyone before the event that it was an earlier build, and the frame rate was only optimized around vault 76, as they didn't expect many to wander much further in the 3 hours... a few definitely took off as far as they could, other's pushed out to the boundaries and a bit beyond, but most stayed near the vault, questing and getting a sense of the game... the crashes were expected, too... and i am betting it will crash when i try the BETA too... our hope tho is they get most of that sorted out by launch... i can handle occasional crashes, a few of my games do that to me already lol... of course rockstar will have their game on point, but this is also bethesda's first venture into the online unknown with their creation engine...

i am just sitting here, rounding up friends, fellow forum dwellers, thinking about character builds, and hopefully DnD'n the shit out of some roleplaying in a few weeks!

  5. the week of, i'm muting anything RDR related because fuck twitter and also the snap community that wlll be spoiling locations and experiences i want to see myself for the first 2-3 days... this game will be around for years, i think i can handle a few days without seeing other peoples reactions... plus a lot of those people are the type that want to be the first to show everyone for dem likes and subs anyways ...

this topic is about as far as my spoilers have gone, seeing the map built and fleshed out, lol...

  6. BUT I DON'T WANNA!!

in all fairness, i am just contemplating, not expecting it, just thinking out loud is all... it would be quite the nifty surprise... and like i said, probably only epic games has more access to resources than rockstar these day... they could realistically do it if they wanted... and they know people would buy it too...

so realistically, how long until we start seeing the actual map? i would imagine it's going out to reviewers here soon for dem juicy articles and such...

From the looks of it RDR2 is going to be loaded by itself. I really don't think they would tie up valuable disc space for an existing game that would need to be about 75% rebuilt to conform to the new mechanics and graphical detail.

if the map is already rebuilt, and the voice acting already recorded, all that's left is to just update the mechanics to the modern game, right? i'd say 75% of it is already there... i know it's just a pure longshot, but it's totally possible since i don't really think a lot of the new game will take place out that way, not with an entire new map to explore... who's gonna wanna spend time out there when you could be fishing in streams and exploring a big city...

could explain why the game is a whopping 105GB right off the bat... maybe lol... then again, we never got that GTAIV remaster either

  8. i saw a lot of positive marks actually... it is basically what i thought it would be, fallout 4.5 online... people say it's definitely fun with a group, but pretty lonely by yourself since there aren't other NPCs to interact with... and my gawd does the palette look beautiful, it looks so vibrant... the nuke footage was cool as well...

here's a place that has a roundup of all the previews that hit the net...

  9. R2D2 (broman) brought up an interesting point last night during crew night... what if at the end of RDR2 (because it's pretty much looking like a guarantee that the old map will be in the game) it finishes with the opening sequence of the first RDR, and suddenly you're now playing a remastered version of the original?! perhaps something plays out like in the original when you play as john's son, maybe in this game, you take over as john after arthur's death...

the more i see of the old map in this mapping topic, the more it's gonna make me ponder that thought...
