  1. Australia does have a lot of potential but I genuinely believe that Rockstar will complete GTA: USA before even thinking about us, and I don't blame them either. The problem is, it will probably take another Vice City game, and maybe a San Fierro/Las Venturas and/or Mexico game before they attempt to combine them all into one world. I'd even expect a GTA: Chicago to appear before a combined USA game. By this time you're talking about PS5/Xbox 1+ which you could safely say is another 5-10 years away.

I think the only realistic way a GTA: Australia game would or could be produced is for a third party developer affiliated with R* to pick it up under R*'s guidance. The Americas and Europe have enough of their own stories and culture to pour into multiple games that we wouldn't even get a look in. Also, noone outside of Australia and maybe New Zealand would know about Underbelly. We're only really thought of for beaches, sport, animals and larrikanism rather than criminal activities. Hardly a perception worthy of writing a GTA game.

The question is, which developers in the region could pull it off?

    Me, I'm a game developer

Now you've just earned yourself homework!

    Ah, crap.

  3. I think they'd branch out to Europe and South America before even considering Australia. There'd be plenty here to pull off a quality game though.

They could do GTA 6 in Sydney, it has the blue mountains behind it and was one of the cities underbelly was filmed in, I say Australia has a lot of potential.

  4. It's quite different than Photoshop. It takes a little more time to make something but usually easier to alter things afterward. I actually made a GTA IV-style version of the GTA V map pretty quickly since it's easier to alter colors. :P

I'll have to Google some tutorials. I'd like to experiment with using Inkscape to recreate the actual map, come September.

Or you can join forces, and create an official iGTA5 - Points of Interest, Stunt Jump, Hidden Pickups/Packages map...?

Can I help. I make slightly alright maps.

  5. Okay, I'm convinced Rockstar has either accidentally used structures [far] outside of Southern California or they are really stretching their "reimagination" of it.

First is the rail bridge. Since the first screenshot of it the only match I found was one in Canada - a very good match. I had searched Google 10 different ways for a rail bridge in Southern California and it actually popped up in the image results for "truss arch rail bridge california". The real bridge is Stoney Creek Bridge in British Columbia:

Now here's what I was looking at just now. In this next screencap you can see a motel in the background (individual yellow boxes with the letters and some signage under it including a red arrow). Searching Google for "route 66 motel california" brings up an image of an almost exact motel sign for Glancy Motel which is on historic Route 66. The problem is that it's in Oklahoma.

There have been a few others that I can't think of off-hand where a similar structure was a little far from Southern California.

    Damn you were busy.

  6. Hey guys,

It's me, FiveDollarTricks. My name came from a very scary childhood experience where I lost my pinky finger, which I had later reattached. I am your regular internet bro-douche and I am a general push-over. I love to walk on beaches during sunsets with my gay dates, so call me, I do have to tell you my mother will be present, because she won't allow me to go out with strangers. This is very difficult, because I know nearly no one.

I work at some unimportant office building and write dreary poems about moonlight and criminals.

    Thank you from FiveDollarTricks

So wait, are you a proud american?

A proud american is a bundle of sticks....just saying.
