Well it was based on realistic weapons. They did say there would be more meelee weapons. Maybe the different grenades was far fetched but if stealth is going to be apart of the game then I'd hope some sort of stealth would be in as well.
I don't see why having different grenade types(flashbang, smoke, etc.) is far fetched in a game focusing so strongly on heists. The rifles you mentioned, including the AK, are all fine weapons. I'll take the 7.62 round any day.

those arent the same areas where as the one with the chopper goes over to open sea right after the bridge, and the one with the plane has mountains behind it.
That's because one is taken facing one way, and the other is facing the other way.

Am I right in thinking mountain lions live and kill in the hills around real life LA? So it would be a given that they'd be in the game.
And what about bears? Many bears in Southern California?
You got me wondering if there will be an animal control agency in LS... and if so I sure hope there are non-lethal weapons such as nets and tranq darts.

I'm sure I read that there was no dating in this game but imagine taking Chop to the park to find him a date. Some poor dog owner screams in horror as Chop goes to town.
Lol that would be pretty hilarious, guess I'd have to pimp him out before the walk. GTA would really be branching out in it's debauchery to have that.

An optional meter that pops up every time you die, showing how many people you killed would be pretty cool. Sometimes I want to know how many annoying ass peds I've laid to rest.

Based on the last scene in the game play preview it seems like it may play a role. the guy had around 5 grand.
Actually it was about 52k, so it's playing a role alright.

Just a minor detail that caught my eye,
the concrete walls in this shootout look like more of the destructible ones from the Securicar heist.
So that gives me hope for a bit more destruction. -

I think that would be worse. That would show us way to much. I'd much rather have it be just showing the 3 characters briefly doing something.

I'm thinking anything more than a servo (gas station to you North Americans) and a motel would count as a town.

I just don't want to see those assholes in the helicopters blasting you doing perfect circles, I know I've said this before but it pissed me off that much, also how did they do that?
I think it's pretty easy to get the hang of something you spend the majority of your life doing.

Random peds:
Making out in a nightclub or having sex in an alleyway;
Fist fighting;
Rioting if police control in San Andreas is questioned;
Skating/BMX at the skate park;
Drowning/lifesaving at the beach/pool;
Engaging in organised and unorganised sporting events (wishful thinking, I know).
That would be awesome to randomly see some fat guy floating face down in a pool...

Is the rain ever torrential in LA?
I really have no idea but I would imagine so, I'd like to see it mainly outside the city. It seems to be coming down pretty good here anyway:

I'm hoping there's a functional movie studio with some RVs and and maybe a couple of giant sets. There was a studio in SA and although there wasn't much there, it just felt pretty cool. Could steal some awesome outfits and maybe even the much sought after double edged battleaxe.
