GTA 5 Landmarks and Other Buildings

Last Edited by TreeFitty September 04, 2013 : 162 Comments : 402,167 Views

As you may have seen in the Grand Theft Auto V trailer or in our GTA V trailer breakdown, there are many real buildings from Los Angeles in the game - similar to New York City with Grand Theft Auto IV. Here's a more organized listing of the landmarks as well as other lesser-known buildings and structures featured in Los Santos and its surrounding areas.

Note: Not all are exact and Rockstar has taken liberties with many of them. A few appear to be mixes of two or more buildings. The buildings in the game were matched up with their closest real life counterpart. All photos found via Google with lesser quality used. Some landmarks are subject to change as we find better matches.

The Watts Towers (real life Los Angeles), called the Jefferson Towers in GTA V. Also the Playboy Mansion (real life Los Angeles), but I'm not sure that it is called in the game.

You should also do some research on Chumash. Which is the game's version of Malibu. Thanks~

I found Santa Monica City Hall in the game as well. Some of the police stations also bear some resemblance to their real-life LAPD counterparts. The Kortz Center looks to be like the Getty Center out in West LA. The page you have set up already looks great and if you were to update this section, it will take a great deal of time. When Rockstar said they wanted to recreate a "proper Los Angeles", they were not kidding. You could do a separate page on recreated streets (Hollywood, PCH, Rodeo Dr, Burton Way, Mulholland, Melrose, Santa Monica Blvd, La Cienega Blvd, San Vicente Blvd, The 101, Flower St, Venice Blvd, even Ocean Park Blvd). Anyway, good site and keep up the good work!

I live in the port of LA and there are more landmarks. The real names are warehouse no. 1 and the long stretch of warehouses leading to it ( in the game it is located past the coke storage place), S.S. lane victory (ww2 ship docked in port), Rancho San Pedro housing project (the area named Rancho is modeled after the projects in San Pedro). There are more but I'll stop there.

Hookies in the game is Neptune's Net in real life--biker/surfer seafood joint on PCH just past the LA County line in Ventura County. Even recreates the bathrooms in the back exactly right.

The Santa Ana Canyon pass between Anaheim and Corona is also in the Los Santos area (it's known in real life as one of the worst traffic spots in the LA area).
