  1. In LA, there is a fortified house that is second to none when it comes to security...This would be pretty killer if you had 6* and wanted to put on a siege! ;)

    lasafehouse_0.jpg

If you had a cardboard box as a safehouse you'd be safe from GTA cops. For some odd reason they stop searching for a mass murder, arsonist and all other criminal stuff after he enters a safehouse...

Yeaa i agree its not like it needs to be all secure. I think the house looks ok, but the idea is not relevent to the game.

  2. To be honest, i hope they come back too. I Dont want to be forced to use Dual wieald if that comes back, but If you could choose between the two thatd be ok. And it realy depends on the protag and the rest of the gameplay to see if we see the skill levels back or not. i did notice that between GTA 4 and its DLC, the charactors had different atributes. Luiz could drive better, the biker guy ( Johnny) drove bikes better and i think Niko was just average because I havnt noticed any difference with him

  3. i think the house and the parachute pics look the best. I know that some things need to be tweaked a lil bit, but i just hope it looks sharper than this. Some Ice enhancers make gta 4 look better than this, so i just hope this game looks as good as we all hope. Overall these already look great, but there is room for inmprovement on the graphics and the visual details ( lighting, shading, etc).i just dont think I cant wait for another tralier!

Hey guys, I'm new to this post. I just wanted to point out (I don't know if it has been already) that the bridge from the parachute screenshot looks awfully similar to the Bixby Bridge in California. It is found on Highway 1 which I know goes through Los Angeles AND San Francisco. You might say "so?" but this bridge is found on your way UP to San Fransico. In Central/Northern Califronia. The bridge is closer to San Fransico than Los Angeles. Might be a coincidence, I'm not sure.

Also, the pic of the racing is along the mountains. Wasn't Mt. Chilliad famous in SA for it's downhill motor racing? If you look the the very bottom of the screenshot, you can see that they (the racers) have come through a downward bend. Have a look. It might just be me seeing this. :)

Thats a great point ! I think most people would have overlooked something like that, and the part about Chilliad i noticed right away. But Geographically GTA games have never been exactly correct. up until GTA sa, there was never alot of the correct buldings and places. Suppose that GTA 5 is going to be close to geographically correct, then we could be seeing San fierro and san diego ( the I-5 SOUTH highway sign in the first trailer, right were the white SUV is).

  4. yea, I think that having the option to save your cutsom, rare, or even just cars you like, in a big garage. I like the towing idea, but it should be unlocked by a misson, not by a freind. I think it would be nice if you total a vehicle, then you could pick it up all fixed at an impound type place. I dont know how to put pictures on a Topic Reply, but im talking about the movie Misson Impossible Ghost Protocal. There is a big fight scene in a car factory that looks like the picture you posted. if you havnt seen the movie, you should! but you have to see the others before it fot the movie to make sense.

Exactly what I had in mind! You'd still have the realism R* is going for in the last GTA's, but as a player you would have more "connection" to your vehicle. Because since I love my cars to be crisp while I drive them, I used to drag people out of their cars constantly, (because when you drive a certain car then the same model will suddenly pop up everywhere around you) just to keep a crisp car...

And yes I've seen Ghost Protocol (once), and I liked the movie (yes Ive seen all MI movies), but I cant really remember the scene you refer to... (Maybe I smoke too much! LOL).

Haha yea. its in the last 10 mins of the movie i think. And I hope they fix that problem, because that was very annoying in all the GTAs. id think there should be a certain street or block that spawns the car you are driving, but thats only to change the color or a new car ( for those who dont use cheats ). And i think there should be a system like GTA SA where you can buy cars. Not where you have to find everyone, it just unlocks a few every now and again, until you complete the story missons and you get all the cars. Then if they bring back the Vigillante missons, the more you do the levels, the more you work towards buying certain Police/military vehicles. But i just hope they improve on the car storage. like, if you make a tricked out custom vehicle ( hell, what about 10 ) then you should be able to store them withought them being in all sorts of houses.

  5. holy crap! thats alot of cars. I think something like that (maybe not as BIG) , but just in the circular form. i like the smaller like 4 car one that looks like the Picture above, although the version you have there is crazy!. Talk about MASS storage. I like the idea of having a huge carage like that to put all of the rare/specail cars in. I know GTA 4 sucked at that, cuz when it comes down the stevies cars misson, there are alot of cars that are VERY rare. so i hope they let you have the ability to keep all sorts of cars. I would like to be able to fight in one of those like Misson Impossible GP. That would be pretty cool.

Haha, well I dare not dream about such storage capacity in a GTA game!! But I sincerely hope they do up their game in the car storage department. I loved it how in SR your car would always be at your garage once you've saved. Because in GTA games I rarely actually used a rare car. I would always put them in a parking spot and never use them... (I would like it to be more personalized, as to wherever you left the car, regardless where, thats where he'll stay. Maybe even with an GPS indicator. Up to 10 saved vehicles. And on your mobile phone a towing service when you just blew/wrecked up your car or sumthing.) This way you'd get a better connection with your car. Before I get blown out of the water, I do realise that the game is called grand THEFT auto (and yes I still love to throw someone out of their vehicle, while pistolwhipping them), but it would add more personal feel to the gameplay for me. Just implement it so, that you can save a dozen vehicles, which you can retreave at your garage (loved the scarface system aswell, where you would call a subodinate and he would bring over the car you would want, and you had a compagnon/bodyguard aswell). Just some thoughts people.

    Misson Impossible GP

What would this be? Maybe a pic?

yea, I think that having the option to save your cutsom, rare, or even just cars you like, in a big garage. I like the towing idea, but it should be unlocked by a misson, not by a freind. 6. Well, hunting is not realy GTA to me. Camping typa stuff i think would be cool ( like RDR, but when you make camp its stationary, and you can walk around). i like G-Locks ideas about the desert. The fugitives, UFO sigtings, maybe a plane crash or somthin. Idk, i hope they add A huge desert. The problem that i have is, What desert will they use as a model? in GTA SA, the desert was based off the mojave, but it barely looked like it. In Gta 5, im thinking they are going to do the mojave, and the sonoran deserts( mojave is like by Las Vegas, and the sonoran by Pheonix or Yuma AZ) together. Thats the only thing that im questioning. Because Geographicaly, the sonoran is mixed with the mojave like east of San deigo. So on the realism, the mojave would probaly be the pick. Just some thoughts, because both look pretty differently, and one might be funner than the other gameplay wise.

  7. pop_up_garage_01.jpg

YESS! I labsolutely love your suggestions and if we get half of them I'd be more then sattisfied!! As Brawk said, I would love to see some multi-storage use myself. I just now thought about the 3 car stack system you had in TBOGT, (was that mission "no.3"?), when you had to steal the car together with Brucie and his annoying midget brother. I could imagine you could have the same type of system, but then run it down in the ground. Then you go to a button and select which car you want.

    Love the ideas fellas!

    What about this one?? self-parking-garage2.jpg

holy crap! thats alot of cars. 8. i like all of those but the tree house. Its a cool idea, but idk its just not that cool for a gta game. its like what action hero would say " Quick !, back to the tree house! " Not that many. But i liked the mansion idea, i think the look of that one there is perfect. I mean, color, the location, everything. And the Car saver thing is AWESOME. i mean, Having the ability to store lots of cars, like 3 or 4 in one tall system would be cool. it would just let you select the level you want at ground level, and you would drive off. I think theyd have to make it so the game cycles the cars around so if you pick the car that is the bottom one ( of 4 spaces) , and you drive off, you should be able to put it in the first one so its not a hastle. Great ideas tho.

  9. Could you shoplift in Mafia II :L

Yup. You could steal any item in a store. Clothes, ammo, whatever.

Well, gonna give this a try then!

I have no idea about Mafia 2, But if thats how the Shoplifiting mechanics are, then that is a good idea. I think you should pay for clothes, but if you go into a hunting store, you should have the option to buy ammo, or steal it with teh chance of geting a 2 star or 1 star wanted level. Idk, there could be some problems with that paticular system, but i think if R* realy wanted to add that, then they would make it work.

  10. Is propagating fire part of the physics engine?

I want that back. If they are bringing back the countryside, I really wanna start a forest fire. Bad.

Haha i know, pretty imaginative, and that is actualy what i imagined the game to look. I mean, tankers that COULD be carrying somthing ( more than likely gasoline, altough a certain misson it might be somthing else), and it could leak and explode. I like the looting idea, Buut i think itd take away from the main focus of the game. to an extent, it would be awesome to just steal ur stuff than buy it, but that could be a good idea if it is done right. Have huge mansion with a room filled with stoled luxury items, that sounds pretty appealing to me. I guess that has nothing to do with physics realy, buuut its a great idea none-the-less! :P

Shoplifting like in Mafia II would be interesting.

Yea, i have never played Mafia 2, although shoplifting does seem like a good idea. I dont want it to turn into an RPG where you have a "back pack" filled with crap. I think if rockstar can find a good way to fit that into the game, then i think they should.

  11. Since the game is already showing some similarities to Heat I wouldn't mind an antagonist like this

    heat_l.jpg

A persistent detective who is very good at his job. Both him and the main character respect each other but since they're on the opposite sides of the law they have no choice but to be enemies.

Having an antagonist who is mostly a decent person would make our character the real bad guy for once as opposed to an anti hero like previous protagonist.

I think youre on to something there, most main antagonists in previous GTA games, were such evil characters, that you always felt like the good guy (while killin and robbin!!), which is good I guess, but I like yur idea a lot! It could make for a lot more interesting moral issues during the storyline. You would almost dispise yourself for doing some of the stuff you have to do. (Think of Scarface, scene where Tony has to blow up the car and he then finds out that the wife and kid is in the car with the target, he then refuses to do it, and kills the guy with the detonation switch). As for me I like to somewhat get in character when Im playing a GTA game, (I.e. with TLAD I almost exclusivly listend to the hard rock radio channel, whereas I usely switch it str8 to the Hip-hop/rap channel, but that didnt feel right when riding my bike with my buddies in formation through LC!)

@jobo, isnt it the usual recipe, that there are multiple "smaller" antagonists, but one main antagonist? Think of Dimitri in IV, Tenpenny in SA, Sonny Forelli in VC and ofcourse Catalina in III. Before you ever got to deal with them, you'd have to work your way through a range of different lower level antagonists.

Hmm i never thought of it that way. Almost all of the antagonists seem to be "bad guys", and itd be good to have a "good guy" as the antag for once. If ur into crime like in the GTA series, u are going to face up against some bad people, but yet, there are two aspects of being a criminal. Competing with rivals or enemys, and the law. Good thinking!

  12. Do you think GTAV will feature cloth physics or apex? How about volumetric/dynamic smoke when you burnout?Lets say you're cruisin down the I5 and all of a sudden a big ass tanker truck cuts you off "oh shit!" you swerve uncontrollably across the freeway! The truck swerves too, and jacknives. A cloud of billowing smoke rises from the tires. A dude in a sports car slams into the jaknifed truck, smoke is now poring out. You jump out of your car and begin sprinting away with your badass trench flapping wildly. BOOM! The tank ruptures and the tanker explodes. Shrapnel flies through the air. The ground shakes.

...w-w-w-what happens next???? Thats some grippin storytelling you got there buddy!

And allthough the necrophillia suggestion, by Bundy, sounds tempting, I would settle for just the looting of the bodies. Like RDR, but also Assassins creed had that implemented, which is dope. I hope they extend the feature so as you can not only loot them for money and/or items, but also wear the looted items. Like when you see a dude with a gold chain and a gold rolex, you can shoot him point blank or lure him in an alley (slap him once and retreat in the alley!) and kill him quietly and then take his shit!

And this would work with chains, watches, sunglasses (its Cali people!) and what not. Then you could also deliver it to pawnshops for cash. Just like the sell feature in RDR with the animal skins and shit. I would love little things like that, it would make me drive around to find the biggest dude, with the biggest chain an str8 wack his ass!!!

Haha i know, pretty imaginative, and that is actualy what i imagined the game to look. 13. RDR springs to mind, walking out of the Armadillo saloon in the torrential rain and hearing John's footsteps squelching in the mud. I think more variety of weather would suit me.

Just an idea, but since cars can become dirty in GTA IV perhaps the same addition could be made to the character model, adding an alpha layer of dirt and grime if you happen to spend a lot of time in the countryside. This would facilitate the need to change clothes now and again, meaning you won't go through the game dressed in only one set of clothes.

I have the same feel when you mention RDR, stepping through the puddles of mud, in my dirty cowboy boots, yee-haaah! But anyway, one feature I also loved in RDR with regards to the enviroment, was the night sky. With al the stars out and shit. Really loved it. Walking through the desert, with a bright moon lighting my path, str8 loved it!

I have to say I also love the idea of clothes getting dirty. I personally am a fan of clothes changing (call me a nerd, ftw!) and this would make it more realistic imo. they really nailed it htough in MP3, as a player you really felt the impact of the enviroment on your clothes. I even loved it when in real damp areas (rainforrest like), you could actually see the sweat on the back of his neck! I can understand that since its going to be a huge game, you cant have all these aspects (or else I will have to wield like 8 discs on my xbox!!), but I think the clothes thing is a very realistic option!

Exactly what i was thinking. Ive seen RDR being played, and it is just a good looking game envoronmentally wise. If Rockstar makes it as detailed (or hopefully way more) as Max Payne 3, it is going to be the best selling game of this year, or maybe all time. It just comes down to the details now a days, i mean, look at all the craze over BF3 when it came out, and Before it there was GTA 4, and so many others that sold almost because of the attention to detail ( at the time, some things werent possible ). But i just hope they make it look even better than max payne 3 all around. Everything needs revamped and rejuvinated. I like the effect of the environment on the clothes. I personaly hope to see that in this game, but i dont think it will make or break it for me. Although it is a REALY good idea...

  14. I do agree on flooding, but more in the country side. Maybe the streets could get flooded sometimes, but it would get annoyed if it happened even after just a slight drizzle. Also since 'GTA' is heading back to San Andreas maybe sand storms? But not as blinding as 'San Andreas' was. Also if thunderstorms could create legit damage and maybe even hurricane like waves. Also since it's in "California" maybe an earthquake would make sense, but maybe that's a bit too much to ask for, Idk. One last idea would be snow. Even though Los Santos (Los Angeles) is pretty far south and a little warm for snow, it would be nice for something different for a change.

hmm i didnt think of sand storms. I think if they brought back the desert, there could be mild sand storms that come and go, but as long as it isnt like apocolyptic or anything than that would be a good idea too. Fog in the non desert areas needs to come back, and Tsunamis and earth quakes are just a dumb idea. if there are storms the waves cold smash against the shore and could make boating harder, and earthquakes are just not somthing that should be put in a GTA game. For the setting parts, i hope they bring back the forrest and the desert. Both were realy fun and made the game ( gta sa ) have a diffrent feel to it than just having the citys and the feilds.
