I then turn my engine off, and wait while the police drive right by me, clueless as to my whereabouts.I have a stupid question... How do I turn the engine off?

I've been spending my lunch breaks this week taking in the entertainment on offer in game. Wanted to see if we can put together a list of shows and movies, along with any commentary. So far I've seen a movie called "Britain's Loneliest Robot" (I think). On TV I've enjoyed some Republican Space Rangers and Impotent Rage. Anybody seen anything else noteworthy?

Care to start us off, TIL?

Trevor puking in a public fountain in the middle of the day. Conveniently located right next to the Grass Roots guy, which was... unique.

Just bought a few hundred shares of Tinkle on the BAWSAQ. Also finally got confirmation on my LifeInvader discounts. I guess Social Club is up atm...
-
The BAWSAQ is the stock market for "GTA Online", it will be useable in October when GTA Online starts
Do you have a source for that? I've been trying to make sense out of the markets... I have seen reports of some players being able to trade BAWSAQ stocks already. This leads me to think it's a Social Club feature as opposed to GTA Online, and since the Social Club has completely taken a shit the last few days, most of us haven't been able to get to it.
In any case, the game has two markets. The BAWSAQ, which is connected online and influenced by the GTA community, and the LCN, which is completely internal to the single-player campaign and offline. I expect LCN stocks will respond to events in the main story missions.

Evidently the BAWSAQ is driven by R* Social Club, which is getting clobbered. "Down for maintenance" every time I check it. Interesting concept if it functions like an actual market based on global investment trends.

My biggest gripe so far is the incredibly tiny text. My eyes are too old for that, man. I didn't see a menu option to adjust it, did I miss something, maybe?
One other thing, I'm having a hell of a time balancing the volume levels between radio, sound effects, and other ambient noise. I can barely hear a person on my iFruit, then the passenger in my car sounds like he's shouting at me, that kind of thing. I've monkeyed with the levels in the menu in every conceivable way but can't seem to get it equalized. Probably has more to do with my home stereo setup than anything, although I've never had this much trouble with other games like IV, Red Dead, etc.
Meh, I'll survive.

Yep. Social Club is getting slammed. Good thing there's a lot of other things to do in the meantime... *turns attention back to stripper, makes it rain*

You can just pick a new save, when you sleep at a bed.
I could be (and probably am) wrong, but I seem to remember the Quick Save option on the iFruit offering the ability to choose a save slot the first time I used it...
-
Wow. Quite the rant(s).
To think, all this time I thought I bought my phone because I wanted it...
I am an Android-flavored blind sheep, so I'll be patiently waiting for R* to release that version.
-
Yep, problems for me as well. Yesterday I was at least able to snap photos even though most didn't upload. Today I can't even pull up the Snapmatic app on my iFruit - it tries to sync with Social Club, fails, and kicks back to the home screen. <shrug>
-
Yeah, I wasn't quite prepared for that...
I wonder how long you can float around in your drug-addled state? I crashed into a building after a minute or so to see what would happen, which concluded the trippy-floating part of the mission.
Edited to fix my spoiler fail. I am so idiot.

has anyone played it yet?? i am at a good point in the story to start messing with it, especially now that people are dropping hints on what to invest in... but i had some questions, if you were to say, kill the CEO of that company, to destroy their products, does that mean the stock plummets, or it goes up due to new management or less supply??
i guess i missed the tutorial on what do with stocks...
also, if i get an insider tip, can i make that investment for all characters, and then sell my stock after the match? again, never did this and i really don't want to blindly risk my money on something i barely know...
Haven't invested yet, but thought about it. There is a story mission where you take an action that I think caused that specific stock to go down. The money move would have been to invest in the competition, but until a cutscene after the fact, I had never heard of the competing company, so I wouldn't have known to invest.
I must have missed a hint somewhere. Either that, or I've got it completely backward. I may have been a teensy bit drunk at the time.

Cool story, Kuz.
I love the handling in V. IV was great and quite realistic, but that realism can take a toll on gameplay. V seems to be balanced enough to give the cars a real-world feel while keeping the fun factor up. If you want a driving sim, you shouldn't be looking for it in GTA.
I don't see the problem here.

Trevor has a similarly terrifying experience. Haven't tried yet with Franklin... Hmmm...

Dammit, I completely forgot about this!

And to any Phill Collins fan out there... well find out for yourself.
I absolutely cannot wait to find out what you mean by that. Less than 12 hours left...

GameInformer talks about the driving and damage physics: "Those who complained about boat-like vehicle controls in previous games should be placated with the refinements Grand Theft Auto V delivers. Cars have a proper sense of weight, while retaining the agility necessary for navigating through traffic at high speeds. The damage models are also drastically improved, with more variance to the scrapes and dents you collect careening down the highways like a madman."
I'd ask that Bowling1 fellow to comment, but I'm guessing he's in the wind by now. What a schmuck.

Heads up, there are a few (probably minor) story spoilers in the Edge review. Haven't read the others yet...

I'm sure it isn't as bad as they're claiming. I can't say, because I haven't watched any of these leaked videos, but I can say that you're all stupid.Play the game. Decide for yourselves. Until then, shut the fuck up.
^that. A thousand times that. I can't believe this discussion is still going.

Canceled my pre-order due to shitty driving physics.Thats like turning gay because you had a bad date

I've followed a couple of patrol cars that whizzed by with lights/sirens on but not chasing anyone. I thought, "Ooh sweet, they'll lead me to a crime scene!" I followed for a few minutes (which is difficult because they haul ass). One cop drove around the block a few times before speeding off, and another just seemed to be taking random turns going nowhere in particular. Nothing to see there, I guess.
