  1. i'll explain my reasoning once again for the new board because it is NOT just fallout with swords for me, not even close...

i don't really like the whole swords and elves fantasy games all that much to begin with, i just don't get into that kind of fantasy world... i like my fantasy games grounded in reality, or in space... i mean come on, there's lizard people and cat people, WTF?!?

    ok mr dragon age :P

Yeah, i get what you mean. You like fantasy to an extent. so you like medieval style fantasy but not sci-fi fantasy?

  2. Lol i think the GTA V is a bit too ambitious, unless Nintendo sneak out a top-end gaming device -- Wii 2. Which i would kind of like to be honest.

Nintendo have just bowed out of the console war with the wii and taken the "social gaming" route which sucks for most gamers. But a new console would be good right now especially if it's better than the ps3 or the 360, because that'll give those corp giants a change of strategy and could progress console evolution a bit earlier than expected!

If "project cafe" is a wii 2, then this could change a lot.

    /end of rant

  3. According to 01net Nintendo are working on code-name "Project Cafe" which is going to be a Wii 2 or along the lines of a new console due for release in 2012. Another rumour which adds more depth to this, is that they have a big development team involved... R* Games.

    Here's a quote from joystiq:

The "Wii 2" rumors are raging again, for sure, but now they're in danger of burning out of control -- so let's backtrack. After delivering some spot-on NGP specs days before Sony's official unveiling ceremony, French tech site 01net earned its web cred. That's why the games media took notice (and some even corroborated) when the wonder site reignited the Wii successor rumors last Thursday, and then tossed in some more fuel the following day.

This week, 01net has come out with another intriguing report about Nintendo's supposed next console: Rockstar's on board. The site's sources claim that the Grand Theft Auto creator is the first confirmed company to secure a developer unit of the new Nintendo hardware. The sources add that the system, said to be codenamed "Project Cafe," is expected to be released in June 2012. And here's where the rumor starts to grow more wild.

Gamekyo somewhat carelessly throws out there that Grand Theft Auto 5 is also rumored for 2012 -- is it? (There's at least been some recent evidence that the next GTA is in the works.) And then, GoNintendo fits it all together: "Rockstar has a dev kit [...] working on GTA V (which is sure to hit PS3/360 as well) [...] hoping to have it available at launch." Eureka? Not quite.

But, boy, if Nintendo is on the verge of announcing the one console to rule them all and has a Rockstar logo to flaunt during the presentation? Talk about printing money ...

So do you think this is an elaborate rumour or a possible good find? And Do you think this is in any way related to GTA V?

  4. I think Oblivion was Good for a casual leave-and-go-back-to sort of game when compared to morrowind. But that's just down to the big companies forcing the developers to get games out for the set deadlines these days, meaning there isn't always time to add new layers of depth, which is pretty saddening. But that's just how the games industry works these days.

i think there is also that trade-off, graphics or content, which has always been around. Most RPG games are renowned for epic content, but not so much in recent years. they're trying to get the graphic bar up and trading that off for less gameplay features... Not good, but they have to make things look relevant to current trends.

  5. Nice one. I was gonna make this thread, but since i made the last one on igta, i just got lazy and hoped someone else would start one!

I'm really looking forward to this game. I haven't had an engrossing RPG game like this since Oblivion, so lets hope this game is as good if not better! ^_^

  6. 'Recently' built a PC:

    AMD 555 Black Edition

Forgot the name of the motherboard, some Gigabyte one

    4GB RAM...G.Skill

    HD 5770

and the other shit like 500GB Hard drive, Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit etc

pretty much your standard bang for buck PC, at that time

You gonna show us pics then? How well do you look after it? I don't clean mine as often as i should but meh.

Just got a hold of my new 850w PSU today :D so I'll be giving the whole thing a spray with compressed air along with my paintbrush and hoover treatment!

  7. For some reason after a long stint of playing RDR I have the urge to respond in the manner of a 19th century western hillbilly, so with that said:

"Whass a poynt uv all thaym faynce gizmos an' stuff. Ain't dey laayk jist a waste'o muuney? Dem don't serve no prayctical purpuse an' all. Dey jist look flayshee."

Looks fancy, but is also good for gaming and is nice and large/spread out, meaning i can press most the buttons in the dark without fucking up. Which is good when using it in the games engines where one wrong button press could fuck something up.

i only got it because i really needed a new keyboard, and one that lights up so i can use it in the dark when i do most of my work. And i happen to come across this one and bought it on impulse!

It cost me £50 which isn't too bad tbh. Cheaper than some gaming boards out there, and it has all the same features.

Oh and marney, i think it was actually based on the knight rider dash :D I read somewhere that was an influence for sure.

Damn, I was trying to take the piss. :P

    I know :P

  9. I've always valued animal life, it's humans I don't care for. Someone threw him out of their car (without even slowing down) and I brought him inside to chill for a few days until his cuts healed. He healed up, and I just decided to keep him.

Yes I remember you saying that before and I said i'm the same. It just feels... weird. Poor kitty for getting thrown out of a car, callous bastard.

At least we know that if there was a post apocalyptic "event", Mass would be the guy with the pet walking along with him.

  10. I just started a steampunk model which will be combined with a single model from every other student on my course to create a game mod called New Found Land which at some point will be released to the public.

I've just recycled my sewer i made at the beginning of the year. But I've steampunk'd it up. Those huge cog like structures will be rotating in opposite directions. The art style is also sort of cell shaded/cartoon looking so I've got to make textures to accommodate that. The last catch is each mod has to have at least one code script in it. that could be anything from a particle effect like steam or fire, to a flashing light that when you shoot it, it will smash and go out.

    This is it so far.

Textures are only place holder, they need a lot of work.

Any cool "steampunk" idea's would be good if anyone can think of any.

    cheers,

    DuPz.
