GTA 5 Radio Stations

One of the most stand-out features of the Grand Theft Auto series has always been it's radio stations and music. In GTA 5 we can be pretty sure the radio stations will be back and better than ever with Sam & Dan Houser working hard alongside Lazlow to come up with original content to keep us entertained while cruising down the sidewalk splattering helpless pedestrians.

Expected Radio Stations

The one radio station we can expect to see more than others (based on current information) is a 60's/70's radio station. Generally, the song used in a GTA trailer is always included in the game (but not always). The song in the first official GTA 5 trailer - Small Faces - Ogdens' Nut Gone Flake - was released in 1968. Therefore, either this song will be included within a "classics" radio show, or it'll be on it's own station with songs from a similar time period: iGTA5

One of the European GTA 5 previews stated that "Radar Love" by Golden Earring (1973) was playing on the radio when Trevor was driving around:

The second trailer contained the song "Skeletons" by Stevie Wonder, an R&B song from 1987:

The three protagonist trailers featured Queen - Radio Ga Ga (Michael), Jay Rock - Hood Gone Love It (Franklin), and Waylon Jennings - Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way (Trevor).

A preview on May 2nd from Official PlayStation Magazine stated Fergie’s "Glamorous" was playing on the radio.

Radio Stations

Seen in trailers or revealed in previews.
  • Los Santos Rock Radio
  • Nightride FM (from rumor section below)

Radio We Think Will Be Included

With the game being set in Los Santos, we're predicting some similar stations from GTA San Andreas to make an appearance. This could include the following genres:

  • Old School Hip-Hop
  • Modern Hip-Hop iGTA5
  • Classic Rock
  • Modern Rock
  • Country
  • Latino
  • Pop
  • Dance
  • Electronic
  • News/talk Radio

Rumors

Of course there are many people on social media sites or in interviews claiming to be involved with GTA V and have a musical background. Some are plausible but others not so much. Here are a few: iGTA5

  • Curtis Snow (Snow on da Bluff), unknown role
  • The Game, unknown role
  • Chief Keef, song "Love Sosa" supposedly in GTA V
  • Kavinsky, DJ of new Nightride FM radio station
  • Flying Lotus, DJ of a radio station

As we get closer to the GTA V's release there will probably be more as well as some confirmation of rumors. Stay tuned.

We'll get more information with the release of a new trailer or if the official website goes up. Until then, let us know some radio stations or songs you'd like to hear in GTA V below or in the forum topic here!

Shawry91 you read my mind: " the option to select songs from each radio station and make you're own play list or import songs from you're console itself " I think thats a wonderful idea because that way we dont have to listen to songs in the game that we dont even listen to. There can be a limit 1-100 songs.

I'm usually a big fan of the GTA music selection but thought IV was disappointing. I think there should be a little variety for different ages and taste. I like the idea of a Dubstep station or drum and bass like the ones from GTA 3. MXC I think it was called. Or maybe the option to select songs from each radio station and make you're own play list or import songs from you're console itself. I think the X box allows that. Did on San andreas I think. Maybe wrong. Anyway rockstar are gonna a create the best game ever.
