GTA 5 Radio Stations

Last Edited by TreeFitty September 12, 2014 : 861 Comments : 834,766 Views

One of the most stand-out features of the Grand Theft Auto series has always been it's radio stations and music. In GTA 5 we can be pretty sure the radio stations will be back and better than ever with Sam & Dan Houser working hard alongside Lazlow to come up with original content to keep us entertained while cruising down the sidewalk splattering helpless pedestrians.

Radio Stations

From an interview by Rolling Stone with soundtrack superviser Ivan Pavlovich, Grand Theft Auto V will have "15 [music]radio stations, two talk radio stations, 240 licensed songs, and somewhere in the proximity of 20 movies worth of score. It's the largest soundtrack that we've done, and the largest score that we've done."

The new-gen version of Grand Theft Auto V will feature over 100 additional songs and content.

Music from trailers and previews

Generally, the song used in a GTA trailer is always included in the game (but not always). The song in the first official GTA 5 trailer - Small Faces - Ogdens' Nut Gone Flake - was released in 1968. Therefore, either this song will be included within a "classics" radio show, or it'll be on it's own station with songs from a similar time period: iGTA5

The second trailer contained the song "Skeletons" by Stevie Wonder, an R&B song from 1987:

The three protagonist trailers featured Queen - Radio Ga Ga (Michael), Jay Rock - Hood Gone Love It (Franklin), and Waylon Jennings - Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way (Trevor).

The fourth trailer featured "Sleepwalking" by The Chain Gang of 1974.

One of the European GTA 5 previews stated that "Radar Love" by Golden Earring (1973) was playing on the radio when Trevor was driving around

A preview on May 2nd from Official PlayStation Magazine stated Fergie’s "Glamorous" was playing on the radio.

CVG's August 15th GTA Online preview mentioned Waylon Jennings playing on the radio.

  • Curtis Snow (Snow on da Bluff)
  • Chief Keef song "Love Sosa"

I love WestCoast Classics, Channel X and Los Santos radio but I really wish Channel X was more about hard rock and heavy metal, like it used to in the od days of San Andreas. I'm not a huge fan of punk and besides, many metal bands like Metallica are from the West Coast. So where are they?
