As much as people think they would borrow models from other R* games. I really think they wouldn't. Not for a game of this magnitude. GTA games innovate. That is their main goal. Everything will be made unique for that game.

Is it too soon for GTA to go back to SanAndreas? If you don't count titles like Liberty City Stories, Lost and Damned etc, then there is only one game in between. SA - LC - SA

I would like to see a new SA one day, but not just yet.

Well, if you also miss out London, San Andreas, Vice City and VCS, you get LC-LC-LC-LC.

Those GTA games you missed out are still GTA games. Its been 7 years since we had San Andreas. Its about time GTA returned to SA.

My theory on multiple protagonists is that it could be set in 2 different time periods. In the 70's you play as a gangster building up an empire in Las Venturas (casinos etc), then fast forward to modern day and you play as someone else who is starting from the bottom trying to take over... Or something... :ermm:

Multiple protagonists would be a mistake. GTA has always been about one person's story. RDR and LA Noire were the same actually.

I think the closest we'll get is the ability to choose what role we have in a mission, which might mean playing as a different character, depending on how the story is written. That would allow for co-op as well. It would still only be one person's story though.

It's a pity Gawker (company that runs Kotaku) can get so many hits by writing anything they like and calling it a rumour. I guess it gives us something to talk about though.

I think if there is more than one protagonist then it'd have to be the whole of San Andreas. They'd most likely do something like IV where the protagonist cross paths at different stages. It would essentially play out like a film, where the characters are unravelled individually. I think they're striving for a film quality in GTA anyway seeing as most of their inspiration comes from film.

Maybe that's what TL&D and TBoGT were about. A test to see if multiple protagonists would work in one story.

Whats this about masturbating?

A few points:

Someone said that GTA5 could be released in April like GTA 4. GTA 4 was announced in like march or april for an october release that was delayed till April of the next year. So April isn't happening. I'm betting on either soon (like end of November) because there' no need to build up hype for 5, or in October of 2012. Probably october 2012.

I think multiple protagonists would be ok, but as long as its not just pick a man or woman type of thing. Thats cheesy.

I'm really hoping its not co-op because gta fans suck. They are a bunch of egotistical assholes that enjoy ruining any hope of multi player fun.

I think it will be one city like GTA IV because games are getting increasingly complex, detailed, costly. I am hoping for some country side though.

Multiple orgasms sounds good to me but multiple protagonists? If it turns out to be true I'm sure R* would make it work but for now, I've no idea how it could work.

This could be similar to The Godfather II, where you see the story of his father and then his own develop. But, difference here is that The Godfather II is a sequel, and the previous movie is very much required to tell the story of the second. Although, R* are known for taking influence from movies.

A few things for you guys...

1. Rockstar have been reading this topic.

2. I think the trailer will either say "Coming 2012" or maybe give details of a second trailer like "Second Trailer Coming December 24" or something. Can't imagine there'll be a release date already, but I could be wrong.

3. I think we're still looking at modern day San Andreas, just based off those voice artist casting calls awhile back. One of the characters was an online gamer, so that would definitely point to a modern setting and the majority of the characters were based in Hollywood/California.

I actually think the game will:

Be set in California in the modern day (including Los Angeles, San Francisco and Vegas).

Will also include an island off the coast (Hawaii) which may turn out to be like "Vice City".

May include part of mexico.

I am not argueing with psy, He would know, was he not one of the beta testers?

Like Driver Parallel Lines? If its done well it could work. It would certainly be revolutionary. Thats what GTA is all about.

Nah I'm not a beta tester. I get to play the games slightly before release, but I have nothing official to do with the games up until that point.

No one really knows about driver parellel lines, It was a viceman penis flop, limp but still kinda cool.

Do not compare my floppy penis to a Driver game. Ever.

More chet from Gamespot.

I've just lost all respect for Gamespot. Why the fuck does the V logo remind anyone of Washington DC? You people are mad.

Hope I don't live to regret that rant.

I'm not promoting it, it's just a good conversational point. I can't be arsed to type all my ideas or opinions up so instead i'll just resort to posting links.
