Welcome Back "Newbie" User Group

Recommended Posts

In an effort to reduce the amount of "look at my gta v movie" and "i need crew members" topics, I brought back the Newbie user group. It is essentially the regular members group without the ability to create new topics.

At this time newbies will upgrade to Members after one post. We can change that if needed. Hopefully new members attempt to look at the pinned topics this way.

Also, due to IPB's not-always-helpful ways, everyone that was a Member is in the Newbie group until they make a new post. (suck it)

Thanks,

-TF

It is foolish to make it difficult to post topics for new users, even if means, occasionally, you have to, oh my god, push a button. I know how you moderators hate to have to push buttons.

But, congratulations on being right,

No one is going to make a new topic as their first post, unless they're either spamming, or didn't bother to look around before making their topic. There is absolutely no reason to join the forums and immediately make a new topic. Requiring that they make a single post beforehand is completely reasonable.

You should try being reasonable, yourself, rather than complaining every time a staff member makes a slight movement.

I think the work the staff has done more than speaks for itself. Keep wanking each other off, though.

That's the closest we'll ever get to a compliment from the forum's grouchiest member. So I'll take it, since our work does speak for itself. :bird:

Pretty sure there was a damn good reason for you losing your admin status several years ago.

Also, no one actually posts any porn in the gold board. It's barely used.

I actually just didn't want to be moderator anymore. I gave up the position.

I can't remember why I was de admined, but I remember doing something that pissed psy off on a personal level. Can't remember what it was. Its probably in the mod board tho.

I was just about to brag on you for staying above board, treefitty...

:shakeshead:

I think it might have been that I went on gta forums and spammed up the place. I know he got mad about that once, after his first trip to new york to see gta 4.... I guess it's different when you actually gotta meet people face to face.

Maybe it was different back then when the event stuff started. It's kind of friendly competition these days. Honestly when there are 30 or more people at the events I only know the website a handful of people belong to. The rest are unknowns.
