Single Player DLC

Recommended Posts

According to hacked leaks by the usual suspects, the next patch will contain:

Snow DLC

Clothing DLC

CopsNCrooks DLC

Holiday DLC (which must be heists)

Which was found in the coding.

well that may be. not heists tho

"GTA Online Heists are coming early in 2015 - check out the new trailer for the four-player co-op mode for "

https://www.facebook...argames?fref=nf

but um, ya this topic and the gta online dlc topic

pointless having both. i say again, we should just make a good topic with an updating OP. it would cut down on new people making topics like "OMG HEISTS"

that and when the title is updated, we will see there is something new to comment on.

these topics kinda shit at the moment.

great screens ghost. makes me happy i didnt buy a buzzard on my second account because that looks like a new attack heli.

Just watch... all the best new content from the heists update will go to next gen... leaving all the current gen players left high and dry.

Just me speculating but i've had a bit of a think about what the hell they could possibly do with a story DLC using the characters setting and timeline...

My first thought was that Trevor & Michael aren't originally from LS, so anything set before V would not be set in LS for those two. Franklin on the other hand, born and raised in the 90's... This got me thinking about R*  maybe having a go at another era based GTA using V's DLC, just to satisfy the fans, so that the next GTA doesn't have to set "back in the day". Maybe the early 00's. It makes sense, because they just need to re-dress the map add a few smaller interiors and a bunch of era based music, and the tone is set.

I can imagine Franklin and his sidekick Lamar getting up to some comical missions like home invasions, stealing and selling cheap knock-offs, before the tone gets heavy into the drug game and robbery before killing for the first time and being sent to the pen, which then gets Franklin out of the "game" (Until GTA V).

Final thought was that Franklin's actor Fonteno is the only person that seems to be throwing hints at a DLC here and there, so that's telling me he has the main chunk of DLC.

I guess Trevor and Michael could also have their own section of throwback set in a different era each, which would make the DLC very interesting...

Thoughts? Discuss.

I've moved past any faith I had in Rockstar doing something ambitious or worthwhile. It's easier to flip shark cards than it is to make real content.

If they wanted to do something worth doing, they'd make a heist-based DLC, set in Las Venturas.

It really isn't. If the DLC is going to be worth them making or worth us buying, it needs to be something substantial like that.

Besides, they're going to remake all of the old cities eventually, and Las Venturas isn't big enough or eventful enough for a game of its own. This is the perfect way to add LV without making a game with a lacking map. Then we have San Fierro for GTA VI.

I wouldn't think old gen could handle a LV rendition, could it? They already have most of the models needed, though... Id pay $60 just for a well done LV and the desert surrounding it. The desert in SA made the game for me... it just had a certain vibe to it. If R* wanted to make money, that's where it would be.

how would san fierro have more depth for GTAVI verses las venturas?? i do think adding a smaller scaled city in the NE for las venturas would be a cool addition to the GTAV map, it doesn't have to be big or anything, just the strip and some surrounding desert... but i could also see san fierro being given the same treatment...

either way, pretty sure vice city will be the next game...

Las Vegas/Venturas has casino heists, two relevant streets, and some drunk people. Organized crime is virtually nonexistent, and the mob is dead in Vegas, before someone tries to bring those irrelevant has-beens up. Most of the Las Venturas missions in San Andreas involved the Caligula's Palace heist, or had you driving out to the desert for something.

San Francisco is one of the most diverse, cultured, and interesting cities in America. It has more landmarks than any other GTA city, aside from NY/LC, it's significantly larger and more dense than Las Vegas/Venturas, it's home to Triads, NorCal Mexican gangs with cartel ties, and a much more relevant criminal presence than Las Vegas, overall. The city is more scenic and the hills are more fun to drive through than the aforementioned two relevant streets in LV, and SF is home to a significant street racing scene.

I can keep going, if you want.

I agree with you Massypoos, LV wouldn't make a good standalone city. However I would very much like to see the return of it somewhere down the line; the garish neon bathing everything in sickly colours, the noise of the casinos, taking in a show (maybe that godawful magician from IV could return.) The desert in V is very small, i'd like a vast expanse to go crashing around in in a sand rail, getting caught in a sandstorm, peering into the horizon and not being able to see a thing except rocks and bushes, obviously Area 69 would be there too.

Basically I want an HD San Andreas with a map 10x bigger than the last, just like everyone else. That concept map a while back was a nice size. Still, a man can dream, a man can dream...

They said they wanted to include all the cities eventually. I just hope their ill gotten gains (shark card profits) haven't altered that perspective in any way.

I feel like GTAO changed Rockstar, in a very big and very negative way. We won't know the extent of the damage until we see story mode DLC (or confirmation that it isn't happening), or GTA VI.

I don't think R* will change, they've gone a bit overboard milking GTAO but they need to make some profit. Sure I would've preferred some gripping story DLC possibly with a new location to explore, but for whatever reason they decided to prioritise online. Look how long it took heists to drop, I think DLC will come eventually but by then it may be too late. Personally i've forgotten about it, i'm more hyped about a RDR announcement and Fallout 4. I doubt i'll ever lose faith in R* or GTA though, Ubisoft have done a lot worse with AC.

I honestly don't see LV being included in a DLC when the LS casino isn't even accessible. Granted, there could be a situation where Trevor, Michael and Franklin do over the LS casino then heading to LV to knock off a few more but I don't really see it.

Ideally, the DLC would start there - it would actually open mid-heist. No setup, no backstory, the guys are doing what they do because it's all they really know. And Lamar is there. And playable. Because fuck it, why not?

they could do Vegas in the mid 70s...

I'm in the mood for. nice period peice...

I'm sure they'll deliver some new vehicle skins and some weapons, and everyone will beg everyone to "like" the pictures they took of the virtual things they spent 20 real dollars on, because that's what people do now.

i saw an interesting post on twitter from a friend about why they'll never open casinos and/or las venturas for online... essentially when you buy a shark card, you are spending your money on gambling, on poker tables and anything else in a casino... and online betting is banned in a lot of countries ;)...

but for single player? yea why not!! but everyone would be crying for an online version, which would just not be possible...
