Can't stay afloat I'm just

Skipping stones

An echo on the water

I'm letting go

Surrender to the bottom

Another rising tide

Another storm to fight

Come and take me

I'm just a skipping stone

Is this just a wicked game?

Will it wash with the next rain?

Can't give in I can't give up

I'm trying hard it's not enough

Throw myself to the unknown

Charleston, Et Al.

Somber silence is bombarded by screams of pain.

"How could it happen?" Really? Is it that time again?

Every night a new reason to hate

live streaming entertainment serving answers two seconds too late.

My eyes are sliced by someone else's pain.

The rage suffocating and surrounding pretenses of peace

serves to segregate brothers left crumbling in the crease

of systems which subjugate compromise into something for sell,

while politicians move toward the center of nothing creating new circles of hell.

My heart is pierced by bullets fired into peace.

I will greet this day with love in my heart. And how will I do this? Henceforth will I look on all things with love and I will be born again. I will love the sun for it warms my bones; yet I will love the rain for it cleanses my spirit. I will love the light for it shows me the way; yet I will love the darkness for it shows me the stars. I will welcome happiness for it enlarges my heart; yet I will endure sadness for it opens my soul. I will acknowledge rewards for they are my due; yet I will welcome obstacles for they are my challenge.

Anni, amori e bicchieri di vino, nun se contano mai.

Years, lovers and glasses of wine; these things must not be counted.

You've turned into a soulless crooked wretch.

Who knew that loving you was such a chore

'cause now I think you need a shank, here catch!

The path ahead is cumbersome and sore.

I took my time to find terrible truth .

I lost the light chasing torrential rain,

I found no hope in lessons learned in youth,

I've spent my moments alone buried in chain.

My pain is built in memories of you,

a ghost suffered in trust was burned to hell.

was what we shared ever faithful and true?

who cares, fuck you, I can't pretend to tell.

I'd point to costs of karmas bought as why,

Remorse was faked the day after you died.

“We cross our bridges when we come to them and burn them behind us, with nothing to show for our progress except a memory of the smell of smoke, and a presumption that once our eyes watered.”

Sometimes

Sometimes when the leaves turn,

the air cools, the sun fades,

summer's storm surrenders to shivered drizzle...

Sometimes I feel.

Three drinks in and feeling numb

somewhere lost between happy-- or maybe just dumb.

The radio offers more emotion than I can take;

sometimes tomorrow really is too long.

Sometime we'll feel the urge to live buried deep below the urge to hide.

Some times.

Mommy, I didn't mean to cry

Boom.

There's banging outside,

Because I cried, I cried!

Shriek.

There's screaming outside,

Oh! how they died, they died!

Crack.

There's madmen outside,

can we hide, mommy hide!

On Falling In

Unending verdant fields and the twinkle of fireflies

spiral in orbit around a country cottage reflecting

the sun's rich amber on cedar siding at dusk

just before the atrophy of summer's afterglow.

Nebulae of green surround the silhouette

created by a rural cabin's eclipse

of the fading sun drifting

below summer's horizon.

Earthen tones accrete around

unnatural shape then collapse

into perpetual darkness.

Light meets darkness

as form softens.

A Light

and a Dark. Darkness |

light.

It can be scary to find out you’ve been wrong about something but we can’t be afraid to change our minds, to accept that things are different, that they’ll never be the same, for better or for worse. We have to be willing to give up what we used to believe. The more we’re willing to accept what is and not what we thought, we’ll find ourselves exactly where we belong. - Greys Anatomy

Futility

The drips tick and tap my windshield

as obedient wipers erase all impact

of rain drops' final self expression

streaming down glass ending in amorphous puddles.

Why should rain wage battles

against gravity,

rising in a cloud to glimpse the Sun

only to crash back to murk?

Savings Time

Going solo

while the Internet is awake

1:55am

Beating times a little late.

Clicking streaming cunt till

my load was blew.

oh my, how time flew.

I can't believe it's 3:22!

The Men On Trains

A sweaty invisible man drifts

toward the roar of subway trains.

Perspiration rolls down his face,

or tears, perhaps.

Finally he has purpose.

يا إلهي ، خذني

A cold stern man sits uncomfortably

in the stench of humanity.

His blank stare is diverted to a crazed

migrant yelling what he will not understand.

Finally he feels unrelenting warmth.

Oh god, save me.

Dom

Rubber wrapped round

like scarlet letters

intense, in shame.

I'm constricted--

restricted by your breath.

Pull it tighter. Me

in tighter.

Slide against my garden's grooves--

pluck my weeds and wet me

till my dangling fruit explodes

with passion's nectar.

Jump

I'm not sad ok.

I'm egg yolk swirling

disgusting. Shapeless.

I'm your brain

on drugs.

over-cooked,

undone.

A pre-birth stew

of life cracked and scrambled

aborted and ate.

I'm hopes shadow.

look up.

On the benefits of becoming a fish

Yesterday my car broke down.

It was working fine, I guess it just

gave up.

The door whined as I threw it open.

Maybe it knew the End was near.

I looked around for some

sense of direction.

The breeze hit me. Cold; changing

like the end of a season, freezing.

I headed westward with purpose

but not reason.

I had come upon a cross-

walk and the light was blinking red.

I had time to think, and then I saw

advertisements for wants I

cannot recall.

As brakes squealed to a slow

stop I could hear the mumbles

of a drunk homeless man stuttering

"eye of the tiger" and so I said

"Aenema is coming,

learn to swim."
