both of our teams are still very much alive, as well as the teams around us... the long ass regular season usually comes down to how they do in september... i still like our chances of getting in, but i think we were a much better "team" last year...

BEST RECORD IN BASEBALL!!!!!

And bones your team needs to win the division..... Because I think the two wild card teams will be coming out of the West whoever they are.

The Tiggers have the division all but iced at this point by snatching another Cy Young Award winner. They may have the pennant and World Series under control as well; it's definitely theirs to lose at this point.

we were 5 1/2 games up earlier in the week, now KC is only 2 1/2 back... we clearly don't have this wrapped up yet...

Like I said, I think it's clearly theirs to lose. They're letting KC hang around and compete with them, but I'd be shocked if they didn't win the division at the very least. In terms of talent, I don't think there's a better team.

in the central? true... in MLB? false ... we've got the best rotation in baseball, but our bullpen will be the death of us, and our offense isn't getting enough hits...

Right, that's why traditionally the teams with the best OBP are the most successful, since offense is the only true constant in the game and OBP literally translates to with how little frequency you create outs.

Detroit is still near the top of the league in OBP, and given their rotation they're probably going to get the most consistency in their pitching.

Maybe if you take the time to learn the strategy behind Baseball it wouldn't be so boring.

Bu you're just gonna say you have no interest too do that so to each his own.

What strategy? I don't like sports (except boxing, on occasion), but I get that most of them require a pretty strategic mind, for the coach and certain (but few) team positions.

I am not being sarcastic in the slightest when I say that I would love for you to explain what strategy is involved in baseball. I don't see how someone could work strategy into something that's as simple as "who's better at their job, the guy pitching or the guy batting?"

I'll just give you one example because I want to watch this game. What you just said..... Pitcher v.s. Batter.... The pitcher has to know what pitches to throw to certain batters in certain counts. Lefty Righty matchups. Left handed hitters usually don't hit Left handed pitchers well. So do you bring in the lefty specialist out of the bullpen to get the big left handed hitter out even if your starting pitcher is pitching great in a 1 run game.

That's just one minor tiny example of the strategy behind baseball.
