climbing was really troublesome in IV. i want to be able to climb onto the ledge of a rooftop rather than automatically jumping over it resulting in a splatery death.
That would be too much like me, an improved version of C.J.s jumps would do.
I don't know how to respond to this. It's fucking obvious it needs to be improved from San Andreas, that was complete shit with box-like motion, even worse than IV.
IV wasnt much of an improvement. for me it was worse because of the reason i mentioned above.
Yeah IV was shit as well in that aspect, but it was definitely better than SA. That's why it's strange to compare it in that context.
you could climb sideways while dangling but thats about it for improvement.
what that guy was trying to say was not add some ridiculous assassin credd style climbing, just climbing that anyone in good shape can do (like SA/IV) and improve it on a technical scale.

God! I see this statement all the time and it pisses me off that whenever someone suggests a change to the core gameplay ( to possibly make it more varied and fun ), they remind me that GTA is not Saints Row. I flippin' know it's not Saints Row.
haha i know man. even when i say they should bring back things from SA, im told to play that fucking saints row game. in GTA III there was a mission where infinatly spawning suicide bombers attack you (you remember the one i mean
), but if i were to suggest something like that for the next game they tell me that belongs in saints row not gta (vintage GTA does not belong in GTA! wtf!) lol -
i thought of what i would want. a safehouse similar to smokes crack palace in SA. that would be awesome - a drug factory, bar (add many things to do here) and your safehouse all in one.

thats a very good reason why they should be in the game. "largest and most ambitious game Rockstar has yet created" - if its anything less of what SA had, then its not.
im only believing what R* have revealed (LS and countryside so far). theres no reason for believing those cities wont be in the game though.

He's not trying to prove just that there is more than 1 city, he's trying to prove that San Fierro and Las Venturas will return - which they probably won't.
How the hell is it probable? Because you think so?
Because from my understanding (correct me if I'm wrong) San Francisco and Las Vegas aren't part of Southern California, or the surrounding areas of Los Angeles.
How is it probable that they will return? There is no evidence or suggestion whatsoever indicating that they will, so please, enlighten me on why they will return.

i just hope there is a reward for collecting them. it was fucked up in GTA IV shooting 200 flying rats then having to lose cops after every shot, for no reward other that percentage for completion.

if theres more than 1 city (seems like it judging by the LS size we have seen so far), i hope there are different types of collectables per city plus 1 over type across the entire map just like in San Andreas (LS: tags, SF: snapshots, LV: horseshoes, SA: oysters).
perhaps 100 celebrity look alikes spawn in specific locations through LS and you got to kill them to count as collected

i really hope they dont make money a storyline issue. that was a HUGE mistake in GTA IV. by half way through the story i have at least half a million yet Niko is still complaining about how badly he needs cash.

You will always start in a old broke down house/apartment then you would grow throughout the city then countryside. The rest you would have to buy.
no, vice city you start in a rather nice hotel suite. vcs you start in an army base but quickly move to a run down apartment. san andreas, your first safehouse is a rather nice house.
i just hope there is a big variety of them, i want the expensive shit as well as the shitholes like the skmole shack in vc. also want an airstrip like sa

i dont care about those sort of things. for me graphics play a very small part to what makes a game great.
those bushes are fine. R* should just concentrate on adding more content.

Okay first off there wern't planes because the map wasn't big enough to use them. There were "helis' what the hell are you talking about. Trains: There was a subway. They dont use trains is New york tard. Who the fuck cares about "towing trucks and trailers". Operating cranes to lift things; Your serieusly telling me you would use a crane to lift things in a video game. now i can see if it was for a mission but just for fun? that would be a waste of space. Bikes: They dont use bikes in New York. Imagine trying to use a bike in Algonquin..... Gaining muscle: i always thought of that bieng a little dumb. And besides IV was alot more about haracter developmest with Niko thats why there wasnt' as much customization. Clothes: are you saying Niko ran around naked? 37 safehouses; again the map wasn't big enough and it wasn't needed anyway. And besides most of the safehouses in san andreas were just copy and paste interiors. Tanks: there was a APC in TBOGT.... parachute; there was a parachute in TBOGT too. You need to get your facts down retard. casinos: wtf??? Its fuckin NEW YORK!!!! And Gang wars; you must not have played TLAD......

there were only 4 helis in gta iv and 3 of them were the same model. nothing compared to what was in SA.
in SA you can drive the trains not just ride as passenger.
cranes are used for several side missions including lifting cars onto the boat for exporting. they can also be used outside of missions, there are ones to lift cars or there are wrecking balls too.
SA had at least 6 times the amount of clothing as in IV.
Vice City had a smaller map than IV and had 17 safehouses. IV had only 5 which were: shithole apartment, shithole apartment, shithole apartment, penthouse, penthouse. boring.
APC is nothing like the tank in SA, besides we arent talking about TBOGT.

i will never understand people like you. i will never understand why you people think less content makes a better game so long as graphics are good.
also i hate it when you people bring story into it. story is a matter of opinion. for me about 80% of missions in IV were simply "go here, kill this guy (and bodyguards)". so repetative.

i want the melee system to be similar to The Warriors. that was awesome being able to grapple perfectly, drag people around and throw them into cars, through windows, into piles of trash or whatever you want.
you were also so many combos you can perform totally depending on buttons you hit in whatever order. this is the kind of brutal fighting that fits GTA.

All SA had was a bigger map and more things to do. GTA IV had better graphics, physics, story, Shooting and COVER SYSTEM. San Andreas was the third game for the last generation of consoles so they had experiance with it. GTA IV was Rockstars first attempt with the next gen consoles besides table tennis. So dont be a tard and use your brain. GTA IV did not suck and if you think it did you are not old enough to play GTA.

No I am not blinded by IV's graphics. All the gameeplay aspects besides melee combat were greatly improved in IV. San Andreas is a great game. A fantasstic game but for me it's not better then IV and im sure alot of people here will agree with me.
everything other than melee?
planes, helis, trains (drivable and can be derailed), towing, trucks and trailers (also airport vehicles including mobile stairs), operating cranes to lift things or wrecking balls, bikes, gaining muscle, tattoos, clothes, vehicle customization, 37 safehouses, businesses, tanks, tons of weapons, dual weiding weapons, parachute, thermo goggles, casinos (blackjack, roulette, slots and more), betting shops, gang wars and taking over territory.
some of these things were heavily downgraded but most were removed entirely. true IV has things that SA didnt have but nothing too special and nothing to make up flying a huge cargo plane over a military base trying to avoid getting shot down and every other things SA had.
all you can do in IV is story missions and go bowling with roman (how fun).
Joe King maybe you need to watch this video..... then you will understand what Rockstar is trying to straight from the man himself.

even if he did have a point about IV being better than SA, sam houser is the executive producer right? executive producers have nothing to do with development or any creative process.
and besides, the artist doesnt decide if their work is good. its the people that buy into that art who decide.
