  1. Struggling to get into NV - I get too stoned to make good choices... like mistaking a cazador for a bloat fly...

    L0L

    Quite a difference there Gin.

    Try the stoned stealth approach.

Make/craft food, eat food, check out the scenery, do the cazador nest tomorrow. B)

  2. the campsite that the lady and her dog takes you to (tutorial) just on the outskirts of goodsprings... i always use a suitcase in there...

That would be Sunny and her dog Cheyenne. Also there is a trailer to sleep and a camp fire to craft as well.

I used it extensively in the beginning, as well as the vacant trailer behind the Prospector Saloon in Goodsprings.

Makes me want Gecko Steak again......

  3. windhelm has a weird layout, i own a house there so i had to get used to the streets... they're probably the worse in the game, shops scattered about ... at least there's sort of a general market outdoors...

That's one of the best houses in the game.

secret room FTW :D... plus plenty of statues and cases to display all your prized possessions...

Yes that was sort of cool. First game I solved the secret. Haven't gotten there on new game.

Have you built your own house yet? It makes the game even more addictive.

I just crafted my first Daedric Warhammer on the new game, it really ups the 2 handed skill.

  4. Yeah, i'd be happy with that.

Actually, I'd like to see a new crime franchise that covers the criminal underworld for every country. Human trafficking in Slavic countries, general British thuggery, the IRA, people just generally being insufferable pieces of shit in France, etc. It would be pretty cool to have this international GTA spinoff, not made by Rockstar North, so it could release between GTA games.

Like the original Manhunt was, in between VC and SA.

The new crime franchise sounds deplorable, insidious, and completely playable.

  5. After my beta test girl pwned everything in the game, I started a new Nord dude file a few weeks back.

Michal Hearth-Fire is a 2-handed psycho without boundaries. He has spilled enough blood to get to level 52 already.

Using all the warhammers, Steel, Iron, Orc, Dwarven, Glass, Ebony, but haven't found or made a Daedric yet.

Also about Mjoll - -that dude continually hangs around with her, which turned me off if you want to marry her.

  6. I remember every detail (name appearance, backstory) of every one of my characters. Unfortunately, I fucked up my game and have to do a clean reinstall, so I'm probably going to lose a few do to file mishaps and mods lost to the netherworld.

    Life is pain.

I think the Apocrypha is one of the more spectacular experiences I have had with this game. Totally obsessed right now.

Currently trying to figure out how to go back in for each Black Book, and select attributes accordingly.

With that, I am still needing to acquire something for Hermaeus Mora, so it may not be possible yet even though he said it is.....

Before buying the game for PC, the question I have for XBox 360 users, in relation to Fallout is:

With Fallout when you start a new game after doing a previous game with all downloaded DLC's,

all the DLC's load up automatically. No problem there, but with Skyrim the issue is if Bethesda did it the same way,

I will have Hearthfire, Dawnguard, and Dragonborn all loading up at a new game.

Hearthfire and Dragonborn will not show it's face until those skills are reached, but Dawnguard....

That is the issue I am asking about on a new game with 360. Will there be attacks at like Level 1?

I've read there is a PC patch/mod on Nexus to eliminate the Dawnguard attacks, but what about XB360?

  7. A couple of recent observations...

Getting the Bloody Mess perk makes looting a bit more time consuming, especially in confined spaces... and the Explorer perk has just added another 30+ hours of game time for me....

Take those two like once only.

They're fun and informative, in that order.

You can explore 99% of all the locations by yourself without explorer.

Next play you'll want better more effective perks for the various skill sets.

One of the best games ever :)

  8. how are you just now playing skyrim, synch?! i thought you would of beaten it a hundred times by now ...

I suspect he's been lost in the Wasteland, like Ginginho, and only just found his way out recently.

    *stealth hugs you both*

    On the DLCs now.

Dawnguard has a certain species like invading major and minor cities everywhere.

I was building my houses from Hearthfire, shopping for material, and started noticing them country-wide.

  9. It's never a problem to answer these questions. The only thing I've gotten tired of writing are the tips for first-time players.

That post is so much longer than anything else I can say, in here.

Stealth and archery build is my go-to, for the newbies. Such a solid route. I tend to leave it at that.

a delicious variety of high-damage bows with different enchantments.

Love my bows and arrows. Stealth and Archery were maxed out at 100 first.

Ebony, max smithed and variously max enchanted....

    Daedric and Ebony arrows here....

Thu'um Master, learned all 3 words of the final shout.

Now have all the shouts (x3 words) for the base game.

    Sovngarde was just beautiful.

If the afterlife is that good take me now.

I thought one last detail about the end was interesting.

After the end battle, the dead all speak to you in praise....including Ulfric, who actually smiles...

I imagine in the parallel universe, it will be Tullius if you beat the Legion. Maybe next character, Nord Stormcloak.

    Fucking PHENOMINAL game.

I guess the DLC's are next.

Noted... if I ever make it out of the Wasteland...

There's nothing wrong with being lost or stuck in the Wasteland.

    I've loved it forever.

Skyrim will wait for you, and you will enjoy it as you have Fallout.

I just can't believe it took me so long to get on board with this game Gin.

  11. It does sound cooler, but I always imagined one of my characters calling him Paarthy, and it's stuck, through all of my characters.

You've probably had to answer these questions many times, but thanks again. Seems I've always been on the right path.

I still have to go through the DLC's this time, but already have a next character in mind. Bethesda, bro.

  12. You can't kill Paarthurnax and call yourself any manner of bro. Paarthy's as bro-tier as it gets. Fuck the Blades.

Plus, Delphine is a total bitch.

Now we are getting somewhere. I'll go loot all their remaining Blade shit and be on my Dragonbro way.

    Paarthy? Doesn't P-Nax sound cooler?

Thanks for the help, really cool, I was pretty much already on that side.

  13. How do you think up those awesome answers so fast (Y)

    It's like am I a Mexican, or a Mexican't ?

I'm guessing that dealing with Paarthanux in favor of the Greybeards is the Dragonbro.

Looking at the path by actually speaking with Paarthanux first, then the Jarl of Whiterun...

One would never know that you even have to speak with Esbern. [blades]

The work detail said speak with him or Esbern.

You learn Odahvling shout either way, their dialog is almost identical.....

  14. That was the shortest Civil War in my gaming history. Interesting to go to the various sites after and see the results......

Now the big question for Massacre, bOnEs, gtagrl, or anyone who can discuss seriously and not spam the thread.

It's the end, and the first step is dealing with Paarthanux..

Side with the Blades, or side with the Greybeards?

In favor of the Blades: I've already learned all the shouts, so no need for the Greybeards. [Or meditating on words]

In favor of the Greybeards: I've already recruited 3 Blade warriors, received Esbern's potion, all the Blade gear, etc and need no help killing dragons.

  15. SIDE QUEST

Mehrunes' Razor. Had it since Level 20, and I'm at 77 now. Pretty much every side quest done, large or small.

Explorers don't miss much, son, that's why I was asking Massacre, bOnEs, gtagrl......

If there is anything I've missed other than the Companions, I want to do it now before game end and I start the DLC's.

  16. Main quest time, and some questions.

I've read like 30 pages back and looks like you've all had a lot of fun with this game.

Love the political commentaries on the philosophical differences for Stormcloak, or Imperial.

Both arguments are spectacularly represented here.

Even before I invaded their party for Delphine/The Blades, for some reason I hated the Thalmor.

On that mission, I read their dossiers. That was an eye-opener.

There is one about Ulfric that states he is a kind of sleeper agent for the Thalmor. (Not exactly just similar interests.)

They manipulated him back in the great war so that he would eventually create a rebellion to weaken the empire.

That dossier also states that neither side must win, and that they just want to sit back until both sides die out,

and they can continue their conquest.

Any input on this for the Civil War? Imperial - or Stormcloak?

I know that whichever side I join, the other will not attack (unlike Fallout) if unprovoked.

So travel to the major cities is still allowed. Not worried about that, just the thought of the Thalmor controlling Ulfric.

Should I continue to search out little side and misc quests, or go for the end?

  17. Since moving to the east coast 5 years ago I've had a dream 3 times about shit falling out of the sky.

Aircraft, aircraft parts, whatever. Maybe the effect that 911 had on people out here. Different than California.

I survive each time but it is graphic and weird.

  18. Finding the violin for Agatha.... I haven't really explored too much north of Vault 101 and exploring anywhere takes 3 times as long because of my hoarding tendencies...

That's a great quest for a number of reasons, mainly the Blackhawk reward.

You can totally stealth your way through it using the white noise flushes, and a little skill.

Just kill everything with FIRE FIRE FIRE. Then also have some sheet music for Agatha when returning the Soire Stratavarius.

Your stealth, lockpicking, and lurk killing skills should be upped after. Plus the caravans stop at Agatha's.

    Quick question for the masters...

I have Broken Steel installed. Do I have to finish the story to continue ranking up after 20 because I'm at 19 now and don't want to "waste" XP? (I would use the Wiki but don't want to spoil the BS story... I know most of the main games one though...)

    No you can continue on.

Broken Steel is epic, long, and cool. It will eat your leveling up for sure.

Try the first DLC Operation Anchorage first for the XP and massive rewards.

Is there any advantage energy weapons have over the more traditional guns? They all seem a lot weaker....

Not much really, it's your choice.

Gatling Laser is awesome, and the rare variants found in the Deathclaw Sanctuary and at the Adams AFB during Broken Steel.

Other than that, it's the one given to you by Harkness, and a few other rare ones.

I go pyro and sniper myself. Fooled around with the energy weapons but only to max skill.

Once (if) I get round to finishing Fallout 3, I was going to move straight onto NV... I have tried to immerse myself in the Lone Wanderer's story and would like to continue his tale as The Courier...

Is there anything in Fallout lore that would make this impossible?

It's a natural thing to go to New Vegas next. Different story, location, and character.....not sure about the lore part but yeah.

Not the same character, but the timeline is like, parallel, er something.

Out west in NV, the Enclave is but a "remnant".....it's all about Caesar's Legion vs. New California Republic, and Mr. House and his NV Strip.

There are more than a few factions but those are the main 2 and Mr.House......

It's the same feel but different. You'll love it Gin. :)

  19. Not quite.

Yes, so I found out. What an interesting twist. Sad bit there, back home at the Brotherhood.

Completed the rest of that arc, bought everything for the Dawnstar Sanctuary.

Kind of creepy to hear the torture victims all the time.

At least I still have Three Dog, er I mean Nazir, and my daughter Babette the 300 year old vampire.

(I realized half way through the game it's the same voice talent from Fallout 3)

Started rocking the Daedric Armor, max smithed and some enchantments. I think it looks awesome.

Can't wait to try this game out on my PC. Too many problems with the old 360.....
