  1. Don't know how Nate will see it when I play him, but I've never seen Nora more angry, red faced, and totally fucking sexy.

Built it, went there, just to see what would happen. Sandboxing 101.

So for you rush through the game guys, who have seen a bit more than my Level 133 maxed out character.....

You know what I think of the storyline after going there?

I killed every motherfucker in the Institute.....

Especially when she's played by a violent male ex-psycho from the GTA / COD / Mercenary game series.
She just cannot comprehend what has happened to her son.

Special thanks out to 3 important things in Nora's life:

The Warwhore of the Wastes [Custom Design]

  2. @Synch about your question

I have a transporter built in Sanctuary, but haven't even used it yet. I ended up building it on a house foundation made vacant by scrapping, one at the end of the court next to the your original house. I've been hoarding so many materials that I was able to build the whole thing in one go. So far, I have accepted to work with both the Railroad and Minutemen, but haven't worked the main storyline long enough to piss off one or the other.

    :)

So you did the same as bOnEs, built at Sanctuary. Interesting. Again, very cool. But I don't even understand how that was an option with the RR, since they actually send you to the Mercer Safe House. Maybe because you guys had not gotten that far with the RR? I dunno. Sounds like I don't have to go to a far back previous save, just a previous save on which location to build at. Also while building you are given optional mission bonus to go to a certain location for the scrap like military grade circuitry. I had all the components already as well as you did, but did the optionals for the first component. That's where I stopped and asked what the fuck am I doing this so soon for,and why, for my son?

Sorry I'm a bad mother. I need to know, so I can go forward or back.

      B)  thanks

So I ended up with the option to build the transporter with BoS, Railroad, or MinuteMen.

Does it matter where the build site is? Or will this dictate who I side with....because I read

non-spoiler bracketed stuff here which (were spoilers!!!!) make me think whoever you build it with, you kill the other two.

Should I go back to a safe save point before I started building it??????

I'm only on the first component, and have no problem going back to a safe save point before I started.

Thanks in advance for your spoiler-free advice. :)

That don't matter. The game warns you when you are about to be villianized with a faction and asks if you want to proceed. It did when I was about to piss off the brotherhood of steel anyways.

Thanks that's awesome. Where did you build? Just curious due to being short of space at my location....

i actually built mine at sanctuary... i didn't think the game would care, and it didn't... the railroad i was working with was present... but i can only speak from my experience... but the location they picked was super cramped for space, somewhere up north, i got frustrated with running out of flat ground and power to make it work, as i didn't have settlements linked up... so basically, wherever the faction you're working with tells you to go, go there and get the popup of telling you to build... but then go pick your own site...

it worked for me, it's all still there at sanctuary, destroyed an all, even after completing the story...

    ;)

Big thanks, but my usual more questions:

That place up north is probably the Kingsport Lighthouse AKA your Railroad hidden Mercer Safe house.

It's not flat, and in my case, filled with the Tato plants needed to make the Vegetable Starch which is valuable adhesive for crafting,

You mean I could, if working with the RR, actually move the location to Sanctuary Hills? That is weird.

But if it worked it worked, thanks for that. I just need to know you were going Railroad, not Minute Men.

While I have all the farms of the Minute Men, the Railroad did in fact take the Lighthouse over as the Mercer Safehouse for innocent working synth extraction.

  5. Synch, if you read the last line of my previous post, those 3 are 3 that you are missing...  I got lucky with them... let me know if you need any hints...  you are also further through the story than I am so I can't help there sorry...

I'm chasing magazines now... got 90 odd... I am guessing, looking through my perk list, I have about another 20 to get...  does anyone know the full total?  I have got 2 of the same one for some reason....

Thanks that is good. Edit: By chance did the death occur with you getting the "Touchdown" achievement award?

About the comics I don't know the total but I've filled two magazines stands, 3 magazine racks, and almost the 4th rack.

I found a place where a Coiffe er whatever it's called always re-spawns there. A housewife type of place.

Never had that book before going there, now I get a new one whenever I duck in there.

Also, the original home of one of your possible companions always spawns a new copy of Robco Fun.

Gin, actually I've loads of doubles and triples of many of them, rather than your 2 of some.

Each one adds more of something according to the on-screen message, but I just checked the hair place

at Diamond City Market, and I have no new hairstyles available after the last new entry, the "Megaton".

I don't even know where to check for these facial tattoos I keep hearing about in the loading screens.

  6. Made a big mistake and did something which advanced the storyline.

Question for those who have completed the game, and if I should go back to a previous save.
I just want to know if this certain action, will dictate the end scenario:

So I ended up with the option to build the transporter with BoS, Railroad, or MinuteMen.

Synch, out of interest, which bobbleheads are you after?  I won't spoil...

I'm looking for the top row four on the far right. Just re-visiting every place I've been to try to find them.
    Here's what I have:

    Bottom Row (full):
    Sneak / Endurance / Science / Charisma / Repair / Perception / Melee

    Mid Row (full):
Energy Weapons / Luck / Medicine / Unarmed / Big Guns / Intelligence / Speech

    Top Row:

    Small Guns / Barter

Edit: Ok it seems this game just stacks them on the display as you get them, not by special row, etc.
From looking at my PIPBoy under STAT it seems I'm missing a SPECIAL like the Strength and Agility

  7. @Synch - no guides for the bobbleheads but I got hints from a friend at work for a few of them and I found a couple returning to places I had already thought I had cleared doing radiant Brotherhood/Minutemen quests... I don't think any are story dependent because I haven't been to the Institute yet and I have them all...

    Awesome.

    Like to read this.

    Here are three stones.

They are holding 3 boxes down and closed, underwater a ways between Warwick to Spectacle.

If this is a part of base story line, I don't wanna know. Just found on my swim.

    Possible DLC?

or just me swimming around looking for shit

Maybe you need to be wrapped in bacon and worshiped a little.   :P

    QFT :bacon:

I had a good push going on the storyline, then decided to collect holotapes for Valentine as a way to open more map and level up before visiting the Institute. That's slowed my momentum a bit, plus I'm still hoarding and dumping supplies along the way. The advantage to exploration - I now have an unlimited ammo pistol, energy and sniper rifle. Plus I keep upgrading weapons and armour each time I'm back home. My next file, I'll perk accordingly so that I can dress my character for looks instead of protection. A big beefy dude in a Grognak costume and nothing else, perhaps.

That's cool. I have to try my Grognak suit on. Left it at my place on Spectacle Island.

I had 9 of 10 tapes before I even knew about the Valentine quest. There is so many side things to find and do.

If you haven't yet, try and venture east near Quincy where there is a certain talking fridge. It's a good time had by all.

Can you believe I just now went back to Vault 111 to find the overseer's project weapon? Unbelievable.

  9. Sheesh, try and be more specific next time, that was such a vague answer! You're as obsessively detail oriented as I am, so I appreciate that reply.

I haven't completed the game yet either, not even once, it's funny that Vicey and Massacre and DiO and IKILLYOU and others have already worked their way through multiple playthroughs. I get too distracted by shiny things...

Well what do you expect from a lesbian engineer? Small talk to get you in the mood?

Maybe you need to be wrapped in bacon and worshiped a little.   :P

4 bobbleheads to go. When I get them all, bacon pizza for everyone in this thread.

Never want the game to end. If I go story, I usually go same as Massacre's way. We think apocalypse similar.

I mean, he's holed up in Kingsport Lighthouse sniping the Children of Atom. That's like a pastime hobby of mine.

  11. I know of three locations where deathclaws regularly spawn in the citae. One near BATDFL whatever its called, one in an alleyway near Cabot House and one just west of the Castle when leaving via the main door. The one at the castle spawns nearly every time when i'm leaving on a journey. I usually get glowing or savage ones, not that they are much stronger.

@ViceMan: There's a place with dead settlers.....siren at the top of a lighthouse type structure.

Sound the alarm, and 2 Deathclaws appear and shred everyone until you climb down and kill them.

They're there every time I go, but can't remember the name of the place.

Old Gullet Sinkhole, there is always a Deathclaw in a sewer pipe waiting for prey.

Also, still testing the effects of the Berserk syringe on lower level creatures.

They go berserk and attack each other, similar to the frenzied state of ants in Fallout 3.

Have found the message about not effective for higher level creatures. Mainly mutants, Gunners.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

@gtagrl: Exploding rounds...I found the "Explosive Powerful 10mm Auto Pistol" early on.

That thing is invaluable for taking out dangerous shit when they surprise you.

I used to buy 10mm rounds at lower levels because that weapon is awesome for getting out of a sticky situation.

So unlike Fallout 3 and New Vegas, I'm not using 10mm ammo as caps, but still hording them.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

@Ginginho: Congratulations on finding all the Bobbleheads. I'm still doing the old school GTA package method.

Haven't looked at any guide or the Fallout Wiki, and need 4 more to go. I realize storyline probably required.....

  12. I missed this topic as well. Heartless was always cool to me. He was pretty tight with Bane.

Heartless had a lot of funny words and sayings, back when Psy was around all the time.
The green forum, before IV. San An I believe.

One of my favorite Heartless lines was to one of the girls, who posted a picture.

"Thanks, I won't have to use torrents tonight".

I'll try and remember more, he was too good at that.

Game On Brother. RIP. See you when I get there.

  13. After mastering 3 wives now stashed in their locations, then Preston, Strong, Hancock (MIA/ OD'd), Macready, Danse, and Deacon....
I'm back to my boy. Time to play before getting Nick to perk completion....

A girl loves her dog am I right gtagrl? Look at him with his Teddy Bear....Awwww.  :P

Now we will fuck some shit up, and he takes a dump everywhere. He is also a Master Pickpocket......

  14. I have been using a catastrophic weapon in your honor for quite some time.
This has taken down Legendaries, Behemoths, and Alphas....just did a Mythic Deathclaw effortlessly.

  15. Do the berserk syringes actually fucking work on anything? Every time i've used them it says the enemy "is too powerful" for it to work. No worries though as i've got an enraging 10mm pistol - the one that makes enemies berserk when hit with a critical, which always works regardless of enemy. The syringer is therefore pretty pointless now.

All of the syringe loads work for me, but I'm using a highly modified long syringe sniper. It's ok but more of a distraction / novelty.

Nothing beats the Reba II for Mirelurks and bugs though....I've never had a problem with Bloodbugs or any of those insects.

Pair that up with Molotovs and you will be eating good this evening. Get the Reba II for helping Barney at the Rook Family House.

This is the SECOND holiday I've experienced in the game. The date is 10-31-2289.

I only checked because again, in Diamond City, a guard said, "Today is Halloween. But do we get treats? No - just tricks."

  16.

Not made it to the institute but I love good neighbor.... That robot with the guns is fine... She's stupid though... Stepped out for a meeting and left a Fatman and a few mini nukes on the counter.. Had to help myself

Have you read her terminal above the shop?

Also, since you don't get skill points for lockpick/hacking what is the point of the chems that raise special?

Like, Mentats? You could use those in Fallout 3 to disarm the nuke in Megaton.

The chems raise a particular special attribute, briefly, so you can open a lock or a terminal.

Certain clothes would do that as well in 3. I used to wear the Lab Coat for science/terminals...

Here there are a lot of charisma clothes I notice, like the Sequin Dress, for speeching.

Also, I get XP every time I lockpick or hack.

If you are right on the edge of levelling up, do one of those things to push over the edge.

  17. but wait, curie is the mr. handy model robot... i'm not even gonna ask, i already put two and two together... and the cave, sigh... i need to start seriously playing this game more, every time i come in here i see spoilers... i FINALLY reached the institute last night...

Well, I used spoiler tags. For me, anything about the Institute is a spoiler, I'm not even close.

  18. I just couldn't get past the accent and general "i'm a robot" naivety... It was bad enough the first time I met Cait. Maybe this time i'll fuck her though, hell I regret not romancing Hancock just for shits and giggles. But my guy is gonna be full on right wing brotherhood, so necrophilia is probably a bad idea. But he's also a sleazy drug-addled cunt of a guy so I dunno, Curie may have to watch out.

Maybe you could hook up with Danse?

I'm dragging him around right now, testing his combat skill. I've already had to stimpak him against a variation of deathclaw.

My girl is pretty much only into girls, so I won't be romancing him, but what he said to Curie was hilarious.

Something like, "The BoS doesn't share, maybe you could donate yourself for science...."

  19.

It's massive, a non-story spoiler, and I've seen mention of it in the loading screens....anyone want to hear about it?

    We're all ears, Synch.

Early in the game I was exploring around Sanctuary, the Ranger Station, and trying to figure out the runaway girl. Went to a nearby farm which turned out to be Abernathy Farm, and "discovered the location", now fast travel-able. Then this loud noise goes off. Something happened and I couldn't believe it so I reloaded from when I arrived at Abernathy and got the fast travel message. It happened again, so maybe not so random??? Here's what happened:

Looked like a jet going overhead, real close above, and it crashed in the distance. It was a straight line so I crouched and went as fast as possible, but it was new territory so I stayed crouched the whole way, avoiding ghouls and bugs. When I got up there it was near another farm on the tracks which turns out to be Oberland Station. The crash site is still on fire and the jet is pretty large and I thought there would be power armor or military guys dead to loot. There's all this plasma looking stuff on the ground so maybe there was a fight? It's like a trail of it so I followed it and yes, Massacre, the path leads to a cave. Inside the cave was an alien like from Fallout 3 and New Vegas. He started shooting at me, I didn't start shooting at him. Since he started it I killed him and he had an Alien Blaster on him with about 300-400 rounds.I didn't know this was in the game. All I could think about was Mothership Zeta. Really, the gun doesn't seem as powerful as it was in 3 and NV, and again who knows if there is even any more ammo for it. So I rarely use it.

Recently, I started discovering these relay towers which unlock radio distress calls.

Turns out that this is another way to find the place, the unknown signal coming from the cave sounds like the radio signal from the alien ship in Fallout 3, like the same type voices. So maybe if people didn't get the ship overhead, they can get the blaster by following the radio signal. Also, the game mentions the alien blaster in the loading screens.....

Sorry if that was boring, or you knew about it, or it ruined anything for you.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jusy tested the strength of the mirelurk queen at Murkwater, she easily took down the annihilator sentry bot mk.2 at the bunker to the north, then the behemoth, which i'm not surprised about as they are weak as shit. But still, the sentry and behemoth only took her to 1/3rd health.

Whenever I see the Queens I think, FOOD! Each Queen drops 5 pieces of meat which you can cook into five 200HP steaks! That's like the most powerful food in the entire game. At one point I had about 40 stocked up. At my Murkwater Construction Site, [Photo below] the settlers are heavily armed and armored, and there is everything built up high to trap her. 3 Laser turrets and a dozen machine gun turrets, plus the settlers. She's dead before I get there, and everyone eats good. I think the first one I found was hard, but they aren't really anymore.  :)

Was the mission at bunker hill?

No it was a storyline with

Nick and he gets you to have Dogmeat lead you to Kellog. After killing him, I go outside and the BoS is here for real. Not just the fetch missions for the guy and girl. In downtown and wherever Gunners, Raiders, or Mutants are, the Vertibirds are flying and fighting and crashing and it is one hell of a great time. Sadly, it seems like the BoS are going to want you to take the farms after talking with the stockroom vendor. So I stopped doing anything right now, except getting Tech Documents and Blood Samples. Reading the terminals on the Prydwyn, they tell a great story about Maxson, who you remember as a kid in Fallout 3.

  20. My guy is a complete junkie; got chem resistant and adamantium skeleton maxed out, plus chemist, toughness, lockpicking and all the usual perks. No sneak ones though as i'm forcing myself not to take them, I still play sneaky... can't help it as the AI is too stupid not to warrant using it.

Have you found all the Legendary Junkie*  weapons yet?

I'm not addicted, so they don't work for me at that capacity, but I've several large ones at my disposal.

On another note, I just did ONE storyline mission and all hell broke loose. I guess it's normal?

Don't know if it's cuz I'm at such a high level or what, but there is mass fighting everywhere.

This is the point where it is really fun, with shit flying everywhere, but I fear going in any direction with storyline will ruin it.

I'm good with all factions, including Railroad and BoS....I think that will soon change if I continue the story.

Has everyone seen this? There has been some *really* great developments at this point of Fallout timeline history.

For now I am going with mass fighting everywhere to find my 4 remaining Bobbleheads.

Also, I had a random encounter early in the game I want to mention, but no one here has said a word of it.

It's massive, a non-story spoiler, and I've seen mention of it in the loading screens....anyone want to hear about it?

Finally, this is 3 of those psycho monkeys together on a rooftop that I had to climb to get to:

  21.

It's my go to melee weapon. Wish there were more mod options for it though.

I prefer Pickman's blade, but I use a unique ripper anyway.

I love Pickman's Blade, almost as much as the Kremvh. I always carry it.

  22. Protip: Not effective against death claws.

To be honest Deathclaws are relatively easy, even the Chamelions.

Poisoners sniper from a distance, or Explosive Powerful 10mm Auto Pistol at close range blows their balls off.

  23. DiO said: What in the fuck sword is that?

Really? You finished the game already and didn't find it?

I will never understand this. DUDE!!

This is the Kremvh's Tooth from Dunwich Borers.

One of the most badass weapons in the game.

Targets bleed and are poisoned. Exceptional damage.

I'm upto level 56.  Been trying to get my charisma up (almost there) so I can fuck Piper and then bin her off!   Keeps hitting on me but always turns me down when I go to the romance option... daft bitch!

She's easy, and the youngest in the game. My second wife of three.

Love her comments on crafting. "Hmmm....What's that for?"

She all but throws her clothes off, so easy. Easier than Cait my first wife.
