  1. I have no idea why the GTA V port is exciting for anyone, except in cuda's case, as he hasn't played it.

For me, I'm excited about a higher resolution and fps, as playing GTAV on PS3 for extended periods hurts my eyes and gives me a headache. I assume it's because of the often dodgy framerate. Luckily for me, the game freezes so often, it normally doesn't effect me too badly.

I agree that ports are normally unnecessary, and if I wasn't so desperate for a PS4 game, I'd question why they bothered releasing it for the new consoles and not just PC. Every man and his dog has the game.

  2. This video perfectly sums up my main issue with Watch_Dogs. There's a massive open world, but there's no real reason to explore it, as practically everything is open to you from the start of the game. While this doesn't make the game bad by any means, it is a bit disappointing.

  3. While the game was overhyped to all hell, and has quite a few problems (some of which will probably be patched), overall, I don't think it's a bad game, and I'm enjoying it more than the last 2 Saint's Rows and Sleeping Dogs. I'd put it on par with Just Cause 2 in open-world game rankings.

I might as well add some more things I've noticed. Most of the online content is good. 1 v 1 hacking is enjoyable in a 'Hide and Seek simulator 2014' kind of way. It's pretty nerve-wracking trying to hide as the search area around you gets smaller and smaller.

Online racing is kind of fun. Most of the races have multiple routes you can take (something I wish GTAV would implement), especially the bike races. The downside, of course, is the handling, although I assume I have it more downpat than others, judging by the amount of people who keep missing turns by about 100 metres. Having nitro brings back memories of GTA:SA, too.

The dash view while driving is pretty neat, although it's useless until they add the ability to turn your head inside the car, as you can only see what is in front of you, severely hampering your efforts to not be a shopping trolley.

Chicago itself is pretty detailed, but only in some areas. If I had the ability to add constant wet weather to the game, I would

  4. lol, I jumped on the Watch Dogs wagon so long ago that I got off, established a village, had some kids, killed some natives, assassinated 2 presidents, and fought in 3 wars BEFORE the game was delayed.

  5. I picked up the game today, and my first impressions are basically the same as Dup's. The cars handle very poorly (I liken them to driving 'Saint's row' cars in a Need For Speed open world game), and this is made worse by the dumbass A.I traffic. I must say, though, that the 2 motorbikes I've ridden are much easier to control, and they will be my mode of transport for the foreseeable future.

I like that you can listen to music outside of a vehicle, but sadly, the music sucks monkey dick.

Graphics wise, only the lighting effects in wet weather stand out for me. Considering I have the PS4 version I was expecting much more. Black Flag looked better.

I haven't experienced much of the story and combat, but hopefully they are redeeming features

Anyways, here are some pics I took with the PS4

  6. I think I've mentioned them before, but I'm really getting into Alarum (a decent Aussie band) again at the moment. Their vocalist might not be to everyone's taste (sounds a bit like that dude from Mastodon), but they are great. I highly recommend their last 2 albums to fans of Cynic, Obscura, Atheist, Rush, Coroner and jazz metal in general.

Found that on reddit. I lol'd

I'm a bit surprised the game is coming out so soon after 3. I assume there will be only minor changes to the engine, especially as it's coming out on last-gen consoles. I'm hoping that the story goes back towards the more realistic tone of FC2. Leave the crazy bullshit (giant LSD monsters) for the Blood Dragon sequel.

The coolest thing in the announcement is the harpoon gun, and you get it as a pre-order bonus. OF FUCKING COURSE. A few missions and a gun aren't worth paying $20+ for a game (maybe more. Fuck Australian game pricing), so it looks like I'm passing on doing that.

Edit: Or not. Just checked the pricing. It will be the same price as the normal version. Pre-ordered dat shit.

  8. I present the first 'volume' of my Vice City-inspired races. Well, as inspired as you can get with the current content available in the creator. All races are 16 player

    Ghetto Life http://socialclub.ro...platformId=null

    1_0.jpg

A GTA PCJ 600 race from the ghetto to the beach

    Running With The Night http://socialclub.ro...platformId=null

    1_0.jpg

Another Vice inspired race. This time, it's a super car tour of the airport, harking back to the days of seeing which was faster, the Infernus or Cheetah

    Sunglasses At Night http://socialclub.ro...platformId=null

    1_0.jpg

A pretty basic lap race. I'll change this one up a bit eventually. It has more vehicles to choose from than the other races, but they are still limited to cars that appeared in Vice City.

    Yankee Rose http://socialclub.ro...platformId=null

    1_0.jpg

A BF Injection GTA race along the beach. Once again, it's a work in progress. Play it while listening to songs from VRock

    And finally, my favourite

    Broken Wings http://socialclub.ro...platformId=null

    1_0.jpg

Emotion. Lots of emotion as your sanchez repeatedly falls into the water. Fernando suggests you buy her flowers after you've lubed her up

And all the races in a playlist, if you feel like torturing yourself. Vice Nights In LS http://socialclub.ro...PMkCs1PxVeOzDRw

  9. Anyone else noticed that random player created jobs are now appearing in the next job menu? Some of my races I haven't touched in months are getting plays, probably because of this. Does this mean an end to every second comment on the newswire being "play mi races, R8 dae is reale gut"? I sure hope so.

Nope, R* just removed the verified title from races. My bad.

  10. An idea: Those stupid green icon vehicles in free-roam, that most people don't bother to collect anymore, should come with random modifications (cosmetic ones mostly), so that you have the choice of delivering them to Simeon for 10k+, or keeping it for yourself. At least it would add something extra to do.

To be honest, I just want a classical horn, but I refuse to pay the price they are asking.
