I want a hunting cabin in the woods deep where only the best of off road rigs can get and another private air strip maybe old army base? And an old 60s huey that would be badass onlu if it had the m60s and rocket pods do a bank mission in that lol itd be sweet!
You should make another topic dedicated to that sentence.
But seriously, I'm keen for a "Malibu" Pacific Bluffs beach house. Either single player or multiplayer, I can swivel.

I may be able to pick it up a day or two early... We'll see.

Just got a phone call...

, or some drunk guy who threatened to have Massacre's posting privileges taken away.

If you'd read the entire topic, you'd know what Fitty knows...

I used to know a guy like Trevor once (well, I haven't played the game, but I can assume), when I lived out in the sticks. One time he climbed a tree and took a shit, pretending to be a bird. Another time he set his face on fire while trying to fire breathe. For a while he used to live on the street, only showering in public swimming pools.
I used to be really intimidated by him, but after a couple of years, I found him hilarious...

I love the way they depict the officers of LS.. They remind me of Reno 911
I'm really hoping R* does their own version of that show for the in-game tv..
What about "The Underbelly of Paradise"? Also, I'm very keen for the return of "Moorehead Rides Again"! And I do prefer thin girls.

I think I'll avoid the internet like the plague once the game is officially released. Also, who needs the internet when you have GTA V in your hot little hands?

That Rockstar time travelling article WAS very poor. Not only did they say that GTAIII's Liberty City was based on New York "to the smallest detail", when Rockstar has openly stated that it wasn't, but they also refer to RDR as a GTA game, complete with spoilers.
Not to mention that they also didn't even talk about Episodes from Liberty City, CTW, VCS and LCS...
It reads like a high school essay, not worth the time!

Wow, there's a lot of new people in here... Not surprising, given the game's current hype.
Read through the older posts peeps, all your questions will be answered tenfold! Sure, it'll take a few hours, at least, but you'll see pure gold, like Banana Pudding's constant arguments about perspective and scaling, or some drunk guy who threatened to have Massacre's posting privileges taken away. You'll also see hundreds of posts by members who have only posted 20 times constantly quoting Game Informer's statement that the game will be bigger than San Andreas, RDR and GTA IV combined, as though they were the first person to report it.
Enjoy! And by the time you catch up to this post, the game will be out!

So glad you guys missed the hint to discuss animals in the Animals topic.
Did anyone have any remote idea until this point that Malibu would appear in the game? How big do you think the town will be? I mean, the real Malibu ain't small, right?

Wow, old post you've revived there.
That guy either wanted music from San Andreas or Saints Row 2, but nothing that hasn't been heard in an open-world game before...
-
My opinion is: who cares?
This topic is so pointless at this point in time...

The only thing I know is that GTA games always have a bitter-sweet ending...
III ends with everyone dead except Claude and Maria, then a gunshot rings out over the credits, suggesting Claude shoots Maria...

Vice City ends with everyone either dead, injured or in hiding, except Tommy and Ken (Ken ends up being chased out of town by Tommy). Tommy actually ends up ruining a lot of people's lives within Vice City...

San Andreas ends with CJ trying to combine his business empire with his brother's gang empire, even though he tried to escape gang life. San Andreas actually turns out to be one of the more positive endings to a GTA game.

LCS - We all know what happens to the Leone family in III, making this whole story a complete waste of time...

VCS - Everything that Vic stands for and achieves is destroyed at the beginning of Vice City, and we know this all along...

IV - No matter how you finish the game, someone close to Niko dies and this ends up destroying him (as he moved to Liberty City to begin a new, happy life)

TLAD - The entire chapter is wiped out, save a handful of members. In the end, Johnny is essentially left with nothing...

CTW - Everyone dies, and Huang is left alone

TBOGT - Like San Andreas, everything turns out alright in the end. No one important dies and nothing is affected by the chaos of the story.
Now, surely, judging from the track record, the plot can't end on an entirely happy note?

No need to apologise, pal.
I personally can't wait to see how close these guys actually are, then we can crack out the champagne and toast 684 days well spent...

Another update on the map -I spent some time sculpting detail into the mountains, and added a couple of bridges up in Blaine county. Hopefully doing the scale of the map justice, as I've still seen many people say the map looks small, when it's clearly massive.
And If anyone is having trouble viewing the 3D model in their browser, here's a back up:
Hey man, it'd be sweet if you did a scaled version of GTAIV's map next to it, so people would have some sort of point of reference
Dup's put in a heap of effort just to do that. I don't mean to be rude but fuck the reference size. I'd like to see him superimpose a Prius next to the map to mess with people. Those who complain about the map size just need to chill out and appreciate what TreeFitty and Dup have done throughout the mapping process.
Hey, look, I appreciate the months of work and effort these guys have put in, and I'm not complaining about the map size at all (if you recall, I was blown away by LA Noire's map). I wasn't even asking, telling or suggesting that anyone to do anything they don't have to. "It would be sweet" has the same weight as a demand as "I wish that someone would give me some money".
The only reason I mentioned anything at all is because a lot of the internet community IS treating this as though it was the "official" map, and although Fitty and Dup are trying their hardest, the majority of (dull) internet users simply can't grasp the scale of the map/model. I mean, just look at the IGN comments:
"It seems much bigger in the game then this model shows."
"I feel like this looks way too small.. :/"
"this looks nothing like the real thing way too small"
"They said the map was going to be like 5 times bigger than GTA 4?!?"
"im glad this is just a fan made map because it does look rather small"
I wish I could say that this is a small portion of the feedback, but it's sadly the majority. I've watched this map come together, I understand the scope and scale, but not everybody has that context.
But, overall, it's YOUR project and time, and you are free to do what ever you want with it. I just thought I'd defend my comment that's apparently sparked some aggression.

I know some people are happy happy happy with the music, but so far, I think the rock section is boring, lame, etc.. No Van Halen? WTF?
Well, GTA radio stations always inspire me to go and listen to new music. Do you think I really knew who Q Lazzarus was before LRR? Maybe you'll hear something new that you'll appreciate.

Well, earlier we assumed it would be updated on the 3rd, but that didn't happen.
My (somewhat informed) guess now is that this week Rockstar is letting IGN do their hyping for them, and we'll probably get more frequent website updates from the 9th onwards...
These are my notes from the RDR launch...
"5 Days - Launch trailer
6 Days - Screensaver, Website update
One Week - Social Club announcement/screens, website update, GameTrailers feature, Gameplay video, DLC announcement, In-depth Preview, Character screens"
You can clearly knock In-depth preview off that list. A GameTrailers feature would be cool, too.

As for the whole "Gangs arent important in GTA V" conversation, well apparently to one of the developers of the game “So in the game, part of the element of the story is that there’s these gangs, these rival gangs.” “There’s black gangs, there’s Latino gangs, and we recruited a guy who gets gang members, like actual gang members, real gang members. I mean, El Salvadorian gang dudes with amazing tattoos and one of which literally had gotten out of prison the day before."
“And we brought these guys in to record the gang characters because, you know, you don't want a goofy LA actor who went to a fancy school trying to be a hard gang member. There's nothing worse than that. So just go find the real, terrifying people and say, ‘Can you come in here please?’ And they look at the lines and they say, ‘I wouldn’t say that. If I was upset at another gang, I wouldn't say that.’ So, well, then say what you would say. Authenticity, you know?
“There’s a lot of sessions that we would have where we would just throw the script on the floor and be, like, 'This thing we wrote is irrelevant, let’s actually work out something real." So I guess Street Gangs are important to atleast Franklin's story, even Trevor's story because he battles the LOST MC and go's with Franklin to kill some Rival Gangmembers.
I got a feeling whatever mob or mafia that micheal screwed over with his FIB deal is gonna find him and become the major competing gang midway through the story. Rockstar seems to have a trending theme in most their games of the character's past catching up with them
Mob and Mafia are the same thing bro, but yeah I could see that happening too. Maybe Franklin doesn't want to be in Families anymore but his past catches up with him so hence he gets back in it.
"One of the developers" = Lazlow

On a related note: I noticed that the article was remarkably vague... They don't really go into much detail on much. Either they're trying not to spoil anything, or the writer is lousy.
-
Wow. The night shot behind the Vinewood sign looking down onto the city is awesome
Edit: Finished reading the article just now, and even though it did spoil a few things, I don't care. This game looks to be the best GTA ever and put San Andreas to shame.
Nothing, will ever put san andreas to shame.
San Andreas was a great game, but you may need to consider peering over your rose-tinted glasses...

BUT you would count Trip Skip as a (kind of) check point, right?
-
uhm... wasn't trip skip only a feature if you fucked up to get you back to the mission start in SA? can't seeing it in another situation than that
No, if you died/failed the mission, when you restarted the mission "Trip Skip" took you to the point after the initial travel at the beginning. For example, there's a loooong drive in the mission "Photo Opportunity", if you fail the mission after you've picked up Cesar and driven out to the vantage point, Trip Skip will allow you to skip straight to the vantage point, NOT the beginning of the mission.
I don't know, ask the guy who said "CVGs new GTA V Minute Facts show a new map. Never before seen.", and then didn't elaborate. I was just trying to be helpful, but I ended up watching the wrong vid...
