  1. and in that making of video, they said you see the other peoples blimp :(... but i guess i'd rather know someone is coming verses minding my own business and getting sniped from out of nowhere... they need to really come out with a gameplan about online, because they're not really explaining it as well as they should for a game coming out in months...

Maybe they make it so you can’t kill the same person twice in a row...

i was thinking that too... perhaps they put a cool down on that... like you kill him, then they kill you, end of battle... so the next time you engage, if it's within the same lobby, friendly fire is turned on and you can't shoot each other anymore... but knowing GTA they'll find other ways around it, like when i'm in passive and they send a rigged car at me and explode it, lol... if there's rules, people will find a way around it B)...

  3. the only game i've pre-ordered this fall is hitman 2, because i instantly got access to the sniper assassin mission... i will eventually get this, but i am in no rush... the beta probably isn't until at least july or august...

as long as they handle griefing the right way, i am all in... but i do see some concern there...

  4. this sounds a bit more promising...

they sound commited to adapt to what the fans want, as in, if something isn't working, they will adjust... this is their first stab at trying a full fledged game commited to this, and they want feedback, they want people to enjoy the game... so that might not sound good for people wanting something good right off the bat, but for people like me that want to explore and flesh it out, i am willing to play along ;)...

also sounds like any additions like DLC will be free... the only microtransactions will be cosmetics...

  5. pretty sure you could probably just leave and go to a different match if they nuke you, where your area is untouched by the blast you just experienced... i dunno, there's a lot of stuff that needs to be explained more... i am not afraid to leave if i can, especially since you lose no progress or your character... and once you get the codes, i am pretty sure you lose them once you launch one and would have to collect them all again...

and pete hines also said, of course you can make multiple characters...

apparently that making of video, followed by a live E3 Q&A with todd howard starts at 7pm ET... so chances are i'll have to watch it later... i like the idea of a live Q&A, i hope todd is ready to answer some questions, because people are gonna have a lot of them... i hope they're not scripted, but probably are...

I do wish you could sign up for the B.E.T.A without preordering it, I was super-excited to test drive it and make up my mind afterwards.

I'm not in the salty camp (although I understand why those of you who are are cranky about it), just in the undecided camp. If I was able to play solo or only with fellow crew mates, I'd be a shoo-in. But until Bethesda explains how it's possible to play 76 without being griefed by the Squeakers of Atom, I'm on the fence.

they're looking into how to deal with griefers and PvP, according to pete hines... they don't want it to be an un-enjoyable experience for people when dealing with others... GTA was horrible, it's why we never played in public lobbies...

    A test game for what?

If thats the case then this is a test game for the future and if it works all of their games will be like this.

lol, a test game for making a fallout MMO... i guess you really didn't read it... don't buy it then, i'm not stopping you...

I still find it odd that as little as 6 months ago they were preaching about saving single player gaming and their next big announcement is "hey, here's some multiplayer." Why bother with the #SavePlayer1 thing at all?

(I think that's the first time i've ever used a hashtag.)

that doesn't mean every game they make has to be single player, they do make a lot of those... they can make an online game alongside their dozens of single player ones... so i see this as an experiment... if it fails, what will they really lose if the next fallout goes back to it's roots? i think they're gonna see if a potential fallout: online down the road would work or not... this is essentially a fallout: online-lite IMO, and if it works, they might consider branching fallout off into another realm...

but i don't think this is the end of single player, and especially not the end of single player fallouts... just a bit of a distraction... come on, none of us expected a fallout for another few years, so i can't get too upset about whatever this turns out to be as it's an experiment...

  9. i'm sure there's people... there has to be stores, otherwise, why are you collecting bottle caps?? it doesn't look like west virginia was directly hit, or at least parts of it... there's gotta be pockets of people still around...

i think todd was talking about everyone from the vault are the real people... no NPCs in the vault... the overseer sounded like a robot to me...

i'm also wondering that if every time you join a new online map, are all the quests and items regenerated? like, could you grind the same damn level over and over for RP and random loot? i would hate to have to see my progression on the world reset every time i log in... the C.A.M.P. makes it seem like i can take my house to any server, but i feel like there's gotta be more to it than just that...

  10. i'll continue to stay optimistic until i see the making of video tomorrow... i feel like that will have all the juicy details we need that a short 20 minute E3 segment can't provide...  i'm not turned off by the concept just yet, because i love fallout, and i hope that bethesda knows what they're getting into...

  11. the fact that it takes several quests to get all of the launch code means it might not really be used for griefing... there might be people roaming around looking for a fight, but because of what fallout is, i expect there to be more allies than enemies... i also only plan on playing with people i know, so i won't be listening to people in the lobby as i'll more than likely be in a party chat, unless in game chat sounds good and has the ability to tune in and out with friends and lobby...

but that's also a big "if" because if i can play in a privately hosted lobby, none of that will even be an issue...

  12. as gtagrl said, i am fine with it as long as we can loot in privacy... if you are forced to mingle with others, it will be a tricky as it appears that you get caps for killing other people, and that basically puts a target on everyone's back...

everyone is jumping to conclusions already and we still don't have enough info to base it on yet... he did say that there's only a dozen or so people at any given time, and seeing that the map is 4x the size of the commonwealth means, you might not run into other people as often as you would think... plus, dying doesn't mean you lose anything, just an inconvenience...

i am hopeful, and no, it's not because i drank their kool-aid... i went in with a neutral understanding because of the rumors of being an online game, and came out optimistic about the possibility...
