  1. my best friend, who doesn't play games often, has a PS3 and i borrowed his a couple months before i bought mine, which swayed my decision to buy one in the first place... he had uncharted and it blew me away...

i work with 2 PS3 players, know a couple others, and most of the people from this site are PS3 players too... we were the only system that got the GTAIV deathmatches and RDR stuff going :D...

  2. I probably would have bought a PS3 first if it hadn't been $600. When they announced that, I immediately said fuck it and went with the 360. Even if IV had been PS3-exclusive I still would've waited until it hit $300.

i bought it when it was $400... since then i've invested $80 into a much bigger HDD... i guess if i would of waited for the slim i would of saved some money but, i was ready for the switch two years prior to the price drop... it was the GTA effect that forced it's hand in my decision to purchase something... and buying a 360 just didn't feel right either since the few gaming friends i do have, already owned one :D... i don't have any 360 gaming friends :(...

  3. ...I bought my PS3 solely to play GTA IV...

this is the exact same reason that brought me to the next gen... R* FTW!!

and i've always been a playstation console owner so i continued my partnership into the next gen... it's nothing against xbox, i've just been happy with the content sony provides to make them my primary system of choice...

you know (i know you all know), LA noire used to be a sony exclusive... until team bondi burned thru a ton of money developing the tech, then realized that multiplat was the only profitable avenue... and i am sure it will be a profitable avenue for both bondi and R*... didn't sony put some money up front for development too?? i think that's also another probability as to why R* has been rewarding playstation owners lately... a bit of a payback for the patience they've invested into the project...

  4. Were any of the 360 players that distraught about not getting the Solomon's Folly hideout and Walton's gang outfit in RDR?

i doubt it... while at first i thought the walton gang outfit looked cool, it just didn't fit john or jack's personality... it made them look weird...

while solomon's folly was exploited online for fast level gaining, it wasn't nearly the cheat people thought it was... you could do that at just about any gang hideout... the single player version however, could be exploited heavily for money if you already have the solomon's gang outfit, as i indicated in the guide i wrote up :D...

so i don't think anyone really cared about missing out on a few extra goodies... completionists and fanboys will argue but, most don't really care... i think the same could be said for the LA noire exclusive content...

R* has always been loyal to sony... they only released the episodes for the xbox exclusively because microsoft paid for it... sony has always been R*'s favorite company to work on because they value and respect sony's business model... sony reaches out to developers and works with them... miscosoft just buys loyalty... so it makes perfect sense that R* games are constantly rewarding sony fans because they were kind of always a sony company anyways... they just saw the big picture and realized that multiplatform was the best decision from a business perspective...

if they didn't see it that way, i guarantee R* would still be an exclusive developer for sony...

  5. if R* announces AGENT at E3 then, there will be no GTA announcement considering that both agent and max payne will be featured at E3... maybe all of these rumors of voice-acting for GTA were in fact for AGENT... or maybe not, AGENT might be well ahead of schedule for voice acting...

either way, i've been waiting for more information on AGENT besides a logo and a sentence...

  6. hopefully the patch gets approved soon so obsidian can reveal honest hearts... chances are once the patch is installed, the new trophies might pop up as well, giving insight to what's in store... those can be a bit of a spoiler though as i learned with dead money... i checked the trophies and saw two of them mentioning father elijah and locking him in the vault :D... oops...

  7. @dupzor - lol, edison carter... there's a blast from the past... mr. cheat cracker :D...

@viceman - i insanely promoted my videos on the lionhead studios movies site... but so was everyone else... two of my movies got good reviews, one cracking a top 50 westerns list... but then lionhead stopped supporting the game and the website shut down... i can't believe how fast they put an end to the movies... they could of kept releasing expansion packs but, i guess sales weren't all that great...

FYI, if you want to make higher rated films you had to send the actors and the film through the PR building a ton of times... and i mean every chance you get... then it cracks the top 5 films for the weekend and draws favorable reviews since the actors in the film are well recognized... it's quite the task, i haven't play it in years, maybe i should fire it up again too :P... i never did buy that stunt pack, i bet it's cheap on amazon...

i was working on a second harvey smith at one point but, never got past the script... maybe i should consider making a sequel :D...

  8. i figured i ought to post this here... does anyone remember "the movies", a game for the PC??? i thought so... anyways, i made this movie with it years and years ago... it's a noirish film so, i thought i'd post it here for all to see since we're all caught up in the LA noire hype...

and yes, you can laugh at my shitty voice-overs, lol, i didn't say i was good at that... i was impressed with the production though for being my first movie ever made... i made a few more after this one and got better with my skills... but the first film i attempted to make was a noir film...

anyways, enjoy "Harvey Smith P.I." :D...

go here for the rest of my movies, and a couple other videos if you want to... i even spot GLC in my comments section, lol!!!

    *is not selfishly promoting videos*

  9. i might be able to catch 30 minutes of it if i hurry home... then again, who really cares anymore... i doubt i'll finish leveling to 50 (around 46 i think) and i can't be bothered to start an 8-man posse since it's hard enough to get 3 people to stay in the gang without one of them being dropped from the game altogether... plus, those damned online trophies for win-streaks...

i am missing all of the above for a platinum trophy... and quite frankly, if i applied myself one weekend i could get it done but i don't want to... i've moved on from their multiplayer... i figured these triple XP sessions would be a good time to try to tackle these trophies but, they always plan them at times when i am unavailable so fuck it...

i'll check out the war horse soon tho...

  10. it could also be like the pitt where you are tasked with infiltrating the location for someone's personal gain, then allowed to come and go as you please after you've finished the quests... which would work too if there is a bunch of stuff to do like point lookout... the only reason to return to the pitt was to finish collecting ingots and using the ammo press... at least with point lookout there was about a dozen side-quests and stuff to discover at every location...

something makes me think that lonesome road is the one that allows you to come and go as you please... i picture that as a long stretch of highway that allows you to fast-travel back to the mojave to drop off supplies and to re-supply, readying for your eventual encounter with the infamous "other" courier...

hey, i didn't know this but, that abandoned farm in the southern portion of the map, wolfhorn ranch, is actually ulysses' farm... he abandoned it on this courier quest... pretty cool actually... i wonder if i missed some notes or a terminal there that made a mention of that... i think the only way that the vault knew it was ulysses' place was in the foreign versions it was dubbed, "ulysses camp" in their respected languages...

  11. yea, i hope it's more open than dead money... sure the interiors can be cramped but, i want an open map, similar to point lookout and adam's air force base...

and yea your probably right, it looks like tribal garb... but i am assuming this game will strip you down, just like every add-on except for point lookout... which i am fine with, so long as they introduce new weapons, armor and crafting items like dead money...

it also looks like a leather whip-like weapon in that screen :D...

    i hope one of the tribes look like this though;

    Mormons.jpg

i just hope there's some sort of preview released soon... i am started to get a little antsy about it... i know it's right around the corner and for once, i get to play it alongside the rest of you...

    Honest_Hearts_2.jpg

    Honest_Hearts_3.jpg

these are grabbed youtube screens from a now removed trailer for honest hearts... thoughts??

it appears to be more shades of red... both honest hearts and dead money are shrouded in red colors... and what is the deal with the slave garb?! are we going to be slaves in each of these DLC locations?!

rumor has it that this add-on will be a lengthy one, justifying the long wait for an announcement... again, these are rumors... the screenshots however, are real... and i hope the rumors of a longer add-on are true too...

  13. I don't want to disappoint you and dissuade you from starting a new game but it really isn't worth it just to see the warhorse, I used the warhorse once until I got the Kentucky saddler.

ohh no, i am not starting a new game... i have an evil file stuck somewhere in mexico... i'll try it out on that file instead... unless i have to start a new game to use the new horse ... i hope that is not the case...

  14. meh, the typical boring war shooters like call of duty and battlefield are the ones i don't want to play... i might play modern warfare 2 but, that's it... homefront is a different kind of war shooter but, the others are all mirrored images of each other, and the very reason why i don't like the FPS genre...

i am interested in unique games like crysis 2, and call of duty and battlefield are all typical war games... i think i'll pass on those...

this one reminds me of something i recall seeing not but a day or so ago... this game is pretty epic, and i would think that this screen does that justice... more so for the 'mericans on the forum...

i might of spoiled myself with the first entry in my "FPS-A-THON 2011" as this game is ridiculously not what i was expecting... a lengthy single player (12 hours/70% complete) and constant changes in the variables and ways to approach the objective... epic graphics and badass nano armor... overall the best game i have played so far this year...

if only FPS's were this good all the time...
