Alot of people have said in their opinion of course, that GTA V hasn't been being worked on consistently since 2007/2008 because of Max Payne
What they don't realize is that they are being developed in different places, by different parts of the company
Max Payne 3 is being developed by Rockstar Vancouver
GTA V is being developed by Rockstar North
Those are in two different countries

I played gta4 on ps3 and 360 and I didn't see a difference....
The map was made smaller than Rockstar wanted, there wasn't as many missions, cars, or things to do, because an Xbox disc can only hold 9GB dual layered, whereas a PS3 disc can hold 50GB dual layered, more than 5 times what a 360 DL disc can hold

Did you have to install the game both times? if you didn't try deleting the installation file, and re-install it. There could be some issues or corruption in the install files. Also, you said you never installed an update? I'm sure there were a couple of updates for GTA IV on PS3. Try and get your Ps3 online and install updates before playing it.
If it still freezes, then it is probably your PS3 at fault. Freezing in the older models, is a sign that it is overheating due to dust-engulfed hardware. if your ps3 is old and out of warranty, just open it up and vacuum all the dust out of the case and then give it a go again, see if that helps.
I have a slim PS3, i tried it on my brothers 80GB fat PS3 and it worked without freezing, so it is my ps3

I was thinking this too, the reason GTA IV was cut down so much(An it was) was all because the 360 couldn't handle everything they wanted.

I think they don't want the same thing to happen like with GTA IV. Plus I'm happy with the trailer not giving much information, it leaves excited and wanting to see more. If they'd given us a load of information already, the anticipation would disappear and we wouldn't be so excited.
I can't lie, it has made me excited for it too, its good that they leave some of it in the dark, but a little info would have been nice, like the main characters name or a release date or something.

I bought it at GameStop, as far as I know, they test every game before reselling it.

Both, the second one that freezes, and the second one ive owned(on PS3) I owned it on 360 and it was fine, but then again, that was a new copy, these 2 were both used.

I'm sure I speak for many others when I say: Stop being a whiney bitch and be thankful they gave us anything at all. They could have kept it completely secret until after Max Payne 3 but they were nice enough to throw the [true] GTA fans a bone with a trailer. They could have given us just the logo and real fans would have been happy to know a new GTA was in fact in the works.
