I just wish I could skip the whole story of 4, the whole opening Vault bit especially. It's as bad as Skyrim and Helgen at this point, you've done it so many times you have to psyche yourself up to get through it, get outside and then you're free to explore the world. Then you shout "fuck you Shaun, i'm off to build a battle arena" into the gentle breeze and head for somewhere far far away from Concord and Preston "i've just got word of another settlement that needs our (our as in your, not my) help" Garvey.

lol because i needed a faction to help me apparently build the transport machine, i made the mistake of asking the minutemen to help... they were right there where i wanted to build the damn thing anyways... between the time i reached out until contruction was completed, i accumulated 5 settlement missions :wall:... now that i'm done with that transport shit, i'm never going to sanctuary ever again... except to hook up my mama up with some chems of course :shifty:...

thankfully my dr. mobius supply bunker in sanctuary is a fast travel location B)...

My go to settlement locations always end up being either Starlight drive in or Egret Tours - mainly for it's lovely views of the glowing crater to the southwest. My last character was my second Nuka World raider, she ended up with the Operators... I never actually finished playing as her, I just quit playing Fallout for some reason.

The thing that always bugged me was the settlement system where attacks were tied to how many resources you made and the defense of the place, I always heavily fortified my bases which meant you never really got attacked, making the defenses pointless. To counter that you had to produce masses of water to make the number higher than your defense, but you still never really got attacked, and when you did it always happened when you were over the other side of the map balls deep in a super mutant stronghold. I think in the end I started using the traps to force the Gunners to attack me.

My generalist Wanderer has finally gotten that last bobblehead, I only have about a dozen magazines left to collect but am getting pretty bored with it...I think I'm ready to start a brand new file. This one will be a male character who will be all in with the Institute, and maybe turn the difficulty up a notch. Fuck all the other factions. And especially fuck Preston Garvey, can't wait to walk around without having to run to some farm's rescue again in spite of making it into a fortress.

I'm curious, has anyone actually ever delivered Drinkin' Buddy to the Hotel Rexford? I never have, it just means you've got the quest stuck in your list for ever more.

I've gone a bit mental again and built another "monstrosity"!  I've built (well almost finished) building an 'entertainment complex' at Starlight Drive-in.

Have to say out of all my builds, this is my favourite so if anyone like my previous builds, you'll like this one!

Spent a crazy amount of time on it, so much so I've levelled up 36 times just from building.

I think in every one of my playthroughs my settlements have been built out of wooden structures and junk fences, so this time for Nordhagen Beach I endeavoured to use something else - concrete. I still ended up using the junk fences mixed with tyres and the spiked barricades from Far Harbour. The USO mod adds so much shit to use, you can places faction NPCs, different merchants, animals, it's pretty nice.

whats the USO mod? on PS4?

https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/25140/?

this is the one i use, "dr. mobius's infinite stash" adds every item in the game, and with the push of a button, resets the container... i like the sound of the ability to place NPCs and stuff at settlements, animals and stuff...

------

share some pics of your new settlement, gaz, when you get the time B)...

That's one of the mod's I've been using.  Was very pleased to see a lot more had been added since I started playing/building again.  A brilliant mod and it's helped me to create something rather special!

Yes it's on PS4. I think I have a mod that just sets the build limit to always be empty.

If we're talking mods there's a weather redux one I like that adds some nice atmospheric radiation storms too. The sky goes a deep rusty red, quite eerie.

Finally got the bugger finished, well did as much as I could as I pushed it to it's limit again (glitching!).  Anyway, here's the pics of my new build 'Starlightworld' - I wanted to make reference to where it was built and I couldn't think of anything else to call it.

It's a 'multi-purpose' entertainment venue with 3 cinema screens, a main auditorium for gigs, concerts, plays etc, a comedy club, an arcade/games area, pool room, computer room, a gym, 2 cafes, a restaurant/bar, a nightclub and a roof top terrace/bar.

epic stuff man, Bethesda should give you a copy of the next game free. I think in you could make this into a successful youtube channel if you wanted, A lot of ways to make $$ on youtube now, e.g., patreon...

Do you have a mod that gives you unlimited building materials or makes it cost nothing to build? Because otherwise fuck that.

Yeah there is one called 'Cheat Container' which gives you 60k of each building material: https://bethesda.net/en/mods/fallout4/mod-detail/3058296

No way I would've been able to do all that without it.

WTF? I deliver him straight to the hotel on each of my dozen plays.

Never had (including now on Hardcore Mode) an un-finished quest stuck in list. Have found all the recipes though. :D

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just went through a nostalgic play through of FO3 and all its DLC's followed by New Vegas.
I forgot how good Vegas was, this time as a dude, and carefully not pissing any faction off yet.

Haven't started the DLC's yet, except the GRA which is a default kind of available weapons and mods.

Stopped today though, got to take Survival mode Nora back to Diamond City to be there on Christmas.
Hey it's a 2-day journey stopping at a safe house to sleep over night, then get there in the morning to see the decorations.

Merry Fallout Christmas everyone. :)

been back on that fallout binge since i beat assassins creed origins a couple weekends ago... didn't realize how far along in the institute story i was, i was already reaching the point where the brotherhood would be an instant enemy, so i backed out to work on side stuff for a bit... took some snaps along the way of course B)...

finished the vault-tec workshop DLC for the first time ever... i pretty much skipped it the first time i played it years ago, outside of exploring all of the cavern... the experiments were kind of funny, but when it was all said and done, it was pretty lackluster... i think i'm heading for nuka-world next... it's time to infest the commonwealth with raider camps, bringing the kind of file i want to fruition... my bad bitch is gonna take over the wasteland with raiders and synths lol ...

also, here's a nice, lovely screenshot i took yesterday ;)...
